Quote from: uwwcontra2007 on March 18, 2024, 03:05:03 PMWhere are you seeing that UWW has posted their schedule?  I've looked on Twitter and on the UWW website, and nothing has been posted.  We just know our non-conference opponents, just not dates.

Thank you!  I was not aware of this.  See you guys on September 21!

Quote from: crufootball on March 18, 2024, 11:08:12 AMGuess we have one confirmed game since UWW posted their schedule and the Cru will be at Whitewater on September 21st.

One interesting thing is I was basically counting that day as the day we would be playing Bethel. When all this news started coming out I did some research and they had already released some of their schedule and specifically said they were looking for a game on September 21st so either that changed or something is off.

Are we talking Bethel College (Kansas) or Bethel University (Minnesota)?  The one posted earlier was College which is the Kansas NAIA school.  Pretty sure we had a TE grad transfer to UMHB a few years back from the one in Kansas...

The original post said Bethel College but then listed McKenzie, Tennessee which is Bethel University just not the D3 version in Minnesota.

Ahhhhhhh my brain is exploding, too many Bethels...

Edit: Looks like it is the TN Bethel and the game is the 7th at 1:00 PM.

Wow, we are actually playing a prep school and club team in our first two home games. Won't be attending the home opener for the first time in a very long time, this is flat out embarrassing to be totally honest.

I have confirmed with the NCAA. Neither Westgate Christian University nor John Melvin are countable games per the NCAA's official statistics policy for countable opponents. The stats from both games will not be able to be used...and because of that, those games cannot factor into UMHB's record. As a result, UMHB is essentially playing eight games and two exhibitions.

That is, unless they are able to finish their accreditation and join the red river conference in NAIA that they've been working on for for the last few years.

Edit to add: speaking about John Melvin in the above case.

Regardless, it seems like UMHB is basically conceding that it is a win the conference or go home type thing now that there are only 4 teams in the ASC. Would be interesting if you could get some comments from someone at the school as to the rationale though...

It's been a year since the mass exodus from the ASC was announced.

A whole year and we have NOTHING....NOTHING from the ASC to give any hope of something positive hoping.

Hope of recruiting schools like Wayland, Texas Wesleyan, Texas College, SGAU, NAU...... we only need 2 of them.  More would be great.  But just two would save the conference.  NOTHING.

Partnership with SCAC?  Nope.
SAA? Nope.
SCIAC?  Nope.
C2C?  Nope.

At this point all four just need to accept the fact that they are going to have to act of their own accord to save themselves.  Can't continue down this road....it's clearly unsustainable due to the staggering lack of leadership from the conference.

Staying D-3 seems unlikely, especially for HSU and UMHB.  Seems no one wants their winning ways.
HPU and ETBU may have slim chances to end up in another D-3 conference.  But seems unlikely.

Do any of them go D2?  NAIA?

Just a total mess.  It's infuriating.

If UMHB goes 5-1 and loses the auto bid on tiebreaker after beating Wisconsin–Whitewater, it seems like there's a good chance they'd get in.

I'm sad to hear that. I can't imagine how heartbroken I'd be if my alma mater shut down. Prayers to the BSC students and alums.

Sorry to hear nothing could get worked out. But, I don't think any of the Baptist 4 have the academic chops to join the SAA lol...
