Again, that doesn't really say anything...but it is odd to delete your only social media account (assuming that was the main account...it was the most up-to-date one and seemed to be run by one of the coaches from the looks of it)
How do they do their recruiting?

Not 100% sure, but here is the twitter for the HC:

Quote from: BSCpanthers on April 01, 2024, 11:46:10 AMWestgate's webpages are worse than Arkansas Baptist.  I'm not even sure Westgate is a real school at this point.  I think I had better confidence in them before looking them up.  If I were you guys, I'd be on the phone to Huntingdon, and what ever SAA school was supposed to play BsC the weekend you are scheduled to play them.  I'd drop them as soon as possible.  Take this gift BSC has given you and schedule another team.

Have to think phone calls have been made from ETBU, Howard Payne and UMHB to every member of the SAA but especially Trinity and Southwestern.  I would have to assume all of them would prefer to play Trinity or Southwestern more than Westgate, although one problem with that is Westgate is a Home game for all of them so if its not Trinity or Southwestern then it another pretty long bus trip or another plane trip.

Back when NAU was starting their program they charged $65!

I remember them charging several hundred a semester just so you could play football... Now they're a member of NAIA.

I will preface this by saying it is a joke...... but the remaining members of the ASC all charge over 40k to try out.

Too true lol.  I always tell the people who call me from the UMHB alumni association that I can't give them any money because I'm still paying for my two trips there haha.  Holy cow, just looked up the cost of UMHB tuition... I seem to remember it being ~8k/semester for undergrad in the 2005-2008 timeframe...

Former UMHB offensive co-ordinator Stephen Lee just got a job as the assistant TE coach at D1 Tarleton. He left UMHB to be the OC at Abilene Christian and most recently the head coach at Cisco Junior College where he went 4-4 last year.

Kyle King got his first reps at qb in the ifl last night. Had a beautiful long td pass, rushing td, but was also intercepted and tackled for a safety. Looked way better than the starter. Jefferson Fritz is leading the ifl in tackles, and is playing safety, holding for extra points, on the kickoff and return teams, and also played wr last night after one of their starting wrs went down... Would've loved to see the king to Fritz pass but didn't happen lol...

Can't say I'm surprised.

I have to wonder what the supposed announcement for other sports is going to be. In the March 30 article Randy Mann said

Quote"In the other sports, we're moving toward a good situation. We're hoping in the coming weeks, the ASC and its schools will have an announcement about that."

Cory Hogue also reported yesterday that HPU OC (and former SRSU/ETBU OC) Brad Wilson is leaving to become a QB coach at an unnamed out-of-state FCS program.

I have tried to remain patient but I must admit tp being frustrated by the total lack of communication. I remain patient to the fact that these plans take time but some sort of statement from the conference is not a crazy ask. I have absolutely no doubt that everything is being considered but complete silence is doing nobody any favors. Clearly the statement would be entirely fluff since if it was written 3 months ago LeTourneau would have been included but anything at this point would be something to point to.

Maybe Schreiner's complacency in getting their football program rolling (hard to imagine they will be ready in time).... added with Centenary and LeTourneau hoping for a "regional pod" of geographically close rivals will prompt ETBU's invitation to the SCAC too.  LETU, Centenary, and ETBU are all within an hour of each other.  That's got to be appealing.

I mean, 3 of the 4 schools in the ASC picked up non-conference games with SCAC members... I could see it happening...
