Based on the little footage I've seen of HSU, the ability of UMHB to stop their running will be important. They have good RBs and can control the clock.

HSU gave up two sacks on Saturday. UMHB has been getting at the QB, so I think that could also be big. UMHB gave up a few deep balls Saturday. Will their CBs adjust and be able to lock down on the HSU WRs?

UMHB has looked really good on D. They stopped a high potency offense in ETBU. It's going to take a couple turnovers, and Phe needs to calm down and see the field. I really hope he is in the film room this week. The need to scan the field and avoid the INT is going to be crucial in this game.

Last season, UMHB had the talent to beat HSU but underplayed. The growth should reflect a new mind set and attack that I think will pay off. I think it will be a close game.

Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

I'm not so worried about our ability to stop the run, I think that is our clear strength this season. Maybe the best run stopping defense in the nation...

My concern defensively remains our issue at corner. HSU has three very fast receivers and brought in a legit QB from West Tx A&M, that will be the matchup to watch for me. Our safeties have been a nice surprise but corner is an issue vs good teams (like we saw vs ETBU).

I'll say this, if we bring the same FOCUS and ENERGY we did vs UW Whitewater we can beat anyone... let's see if we can duplicate that Saturday and get our revenge vs the Cowboys.

My eyes told me that ETBU is a top 25 quality team but they turned the ball over a few too many times against a very good team. The ASC teams might bloody each other's W/L record this year. Will they get credit for SOS? That's what happens when you take the top half of an already good conference and have them battle it out; almost like a microcosm of the WIAC. In the end, it makes for some exciting games.

Watching Endicott/HSU game, I was surprised Endicott was able to hold up to the degree they did against HSU run game. Size isn't everything, but Endicott DL was relatively small comparatively. I think CRU DL matches up much better with their size, but can they effectively slow down Garcia (dude is impressive) consistently with only 5 in the box? If so, they'll have a field day in secondary. I think they'll have to bring an extra defender up though against HSUs overload sets and pulling plays.

Ultimately I like the CRU at home if D can force HSU to pass into the Tampa 2 and Phe can protect the ball (7 ints and at least 2 fumbles lost). If so, I think UMHB wins this by two scores (10 to 14 pts).

Ron Boerger

If HSU had made better use of Garcia in the first round last year, the outcome of that game could have been different.  They couldn't get him going on the run against Trinity, but started throwing to him out of the flat late and he was wreaking havoc with his shiftiness.  Should be a good game tomorrow.

Alright here we go.

Prediction is UMHB 37 HSU 17

Defense gets popped a few times through the air but will also force a turnover or two. UMHB run game and play action game shines.

Offense looks pathetic... play calling and QB so far

UMHB03

Looks like we're going with Padron's "run, run, pass, punt" offense again. We're never going to get back to winning consistently with an offensive scheme that would have been conservative in 1972, especially with a sub par O-Line.

Then on top of that, they still don't seem to think that pass coverage on deep balls is a thing.

On the verge of this getting out of control. Should have been another pick 6.

Unfortunately can't trust Harmon to make any play calling or personnel adjustments.. cough cough... maybe see what the next QB in line can do or put the playbook from the early 2000's back in the filing cabinet

UMHB03

As dismal as the offense is, 16 points has probably already put this game out of reach.

New QB, but sounds like it was due to injury... 🤷🏼♂️

They should change the locks on Harmons office after halftime

This one is over... almost time to turn on Texas / OU
