Quote from: zipmac22 on November 30, 2024, 03:54:02 PMI was happy to see UMHB take the win, but it was a classless act by UMHB after the teams went through the handshakes. There were a lot of UMHB players acting like they had never won a postseason game and started mixing it up with HSU players. Coach Harmon really needs to get a handle on his players before some players start getting ejected from further games in the playoffs. Who were the two UMHB players who went down to the HSU student section and started to taunt them and were seen by couple of the officials. Although flags were thrown for the taunting the Referee for some reason didn't not act on the flags.
Once the game is officially over it's out of the ref's hands. I'm not even sure the conference of NCAA can impose any penalties.  Time will tell.

Sorry- 9 turnovers in 3 games. 7 INTs

The two players taunting in the end zone were the Hill brothers.

Just watched back the broadcast
Of that first punt return. Pretty blatant block in the back. Tough

Stuff is missed all the time.

While the win is nice, the offense needs to be better. A lot of points left off the board.

Congrats HSU. It's a shame we can't ever be placed in opposing brackets. It happens for other conferences but not ours.

While the season has been less than ideal, it's great to see the Cru fight back. I've been very vocal of my frustrations over the play calling. While I do stand by the concern, I understand my comments can be hurtful. I apologize.

Did not get to watch the gave as I was taking my wife to DFW, but there is no place for the taunting and other poor sportsmanship. It's a different environment around the program with Coach Fred gone. Hopefully some of the tradition will return.
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

Quote from: umhbalum on November 30, 2024, 02:32:24 PMCru offensive play calling continues to be questionable and predictable

I've been hated so much for saying the same things on Twitter/X.
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

CruFrenzy

Our defense played at an elite, championship level today. Outside of a near pick six and a fumble on our own 15 our defense truly only allowed 3 points against a VERY GOOD HSU offense.

That being said, if we don't throw the ball down the field and take some chances next week will 110% be the end of the road for us in Oregon. Enough of the quick side screens and cute stuff, play football and let it rip Padron, for PETE sake (lol).

The NCAA could levy fines, probably, but not sure they can enforce on-field penalties.

The more things change, the more they remain the same.

Regarding the incident at the end of the HSU-UMHB game, there were all kinds of fights and unsportsmanlike conduct going on basically every D1 game I watched yesterday.  Sad when it seeps to our level.

The NCAA would be wise to outlaw "planting the flag" as that seemed to be a lot of the problem. While it seems silly to me, when you've spent years of your football career screaming about "our house" and "protect our house" and "respect our house", visitors planting a flag on the logo is going to stir up trouble. Since just about every coach has someone on staff using that language, it seems like an easy fix.

Any player who plants a flag or logo on the other team's logo pre or post game is banned for the next game. The school is fined similar to storming the field. That way there is a punishment even if the player is a graduate and it's his last game.

I think the only way to truly stop these things is to take away victories, we  are lucky that there has never been something truly bad happen when liquid encouraged college students match up with college athletes. Most of these schools will be happy to pay the fine because that means they had a huge victory and the field/court storming will lead Sports Center but you take away a victory and that will stop things immediately.
