I don't know, any bets on how many absolutely braindead takes you'll make on Twitter while professing to be an unbiased D3 football news source?  Dude, go troll somewhere else.

In fairness, at least those "cheeseburger universities" aren't afraid to strap on their pads and face us, unlike most of D3 outside of Whitewater. UMHB faces all comers, there just aren't many comers who have the guts to take on the challenge.

This remains an extremely narrow view on this topic.  Plenty of teams are willing to play good teams (we see it all through the month of September) and nearly all can get an equivalent competition experience for a fraction of the cost as a game in Belton.  I'm sympathetic to the problem UMHB has here, but calling everyone a chicken isn't the way.
Perhaps, but before trolls come around making snarky remarks about the non-conference opponents UMHB is forced schedule, maybe they should give it a rest until their own school is willing take on the challenge.

Dude seems to want to be taken seriously but goes out of his way to take shots at one school.

I actually followed that account on X for a couple days until I realized it was a worthless troll.

I've been away for a couple of months, kind of sucks not having a school anymore.  But has there been any movement on the ASC membership, any news at all, or is it still crickets from the conference offices???

Official statement from the ASC office:

Seriously, there's not much information to be had.  Cory Hogue of Dave Campbell's Texas Football has been probably the one person trying to get answers and has had very little success.  You would think that, if for no other reason for scheduling, schools would announce their plans this year rather than wait until the conference effectively dissolves.  Obviously the ASC can continue on with only four members, but without its current access to the playoffs which expires after '25-'26 (unless they find two new members) there's little advantage to continue.

Hogue alleged that two recent ASC departees were offered "millions" to return, which on the surface seems bizarre - where exactly would such money come from - and it's hard to see schools which left a flailing, failing conference would return given that any subsequent departure for any reason would put the ASC right back where it is today.

D2....NAIA....

Whatever it is..... just make the move.

This is a ridiculous waste of time.

I see absolutely no reason to allow this circus to continue through the summer.  I don't give a rip about this coming season's AQ.

Just rip the band-aid off and make the announcements.

The incompetence of the ASC is astounding.

And the unwillingness of the remaining four to be the first to make a move is maddening.

Just freaking do.....something.

D3vbwest reports Schreiner and McMurry will join the ASC in 2026.

Whoever that is seems to be more dialed in then anyone.

With that said, LETS GO!

Sorry for not including the link - I was in the middle of a practice session and could only take a moment to enter that.  D3vbwest is a former volleyball dad who blogs about topics related to volleyball (duh) and has developed a good set of contacts over the years.

Here's his story:  https://d3vbwest.wordpress.com/2025/03/17/asc-is-saved/

I wonder what brought this about????

Did they accept money to be in the ASC?  If so.... Who paid?  How long do they agree to stay???

Is there discord amongst the SCAC?  Will others follow?  Centenary is the one I'd  suspect the most.

Now the SCAC is on thin ice.

I'd sure like to know why such an abrupt about face.

The Third Division

how do d3 conferences have millions of dollars? I thought that was a d1 thing.

Do McMurry and Schreiner count as non-cheeseburger teams?
