Im sure he just did a whois on the IP address.  VVM services UMHB as the ISP I believe and the umhb name is registered to that domain and block of IP's

My understanding of the reason why HSU is ranked first in the conference even though it was rather seriously manhandled by UMHB is that while both teams have one loss, UMHB has played one less game because the UMHB-LC game was cancelled because of the hurricanes.  This seems rather unfair to UMHB, since the game wasn't rescheduled for a later time.  However, one of my students tells me that LC was ready and willing to play the game but that UMHB refused to to to LC, so that technically it was a no-show on UMHB's part that led to the cancellation.  So, can anyone explain what actually happened?  Who authorized the cancellation of that rather critical game?

Do y'all think the crusaders passing game has been effected this year with the loss of Austin Schrader and without the leadership of last years seniors

The team has great players but does seem to be lacking in leadership, Austin Shrader was a great receiver, I think he is missed on this team

You can fly into Austin Bergstrom... About an hour to hour and a half drive depending on traffic.

You can fly into killeen. . . about a half hour.

The killeen flight will require getting on a turbo prop at some point.  Not sure about cost differences.
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

it is my understanding that the reason the umhb did not make the trip to pineville was because hurricane rita would have created difficulty in the return trip. i think the administrators didnt want to have a team on the road in the path of a hurricane especially considering the results of katrina. purely a safety issue.

its a shame the schedule wouldnt allow for a make up game but thats the way things worked out. should be interesting to see how the selection commitee deals out the post season.

The new Killeen Airport can handle as large a plane as needed. It is a shared airport with Ft. Hood.

I know they can, but they don't usually fly jets in and out of there, save some military aircraft.

You can also fly into Waco (30 miles north of Belton) or Dallas/Fort Worth (2 hours north), rent a car and drive south on I-35.....cheapest will be flying into DFW and probably will have the best times available....

Also, the LA game was not played because the LA school wanted their players to have the opportunity to be at home with their families during the storm.  It could have been played on Friday but travel arrangements (housing and food) was a nightmare to schedule because of the evacuees from the first hurricane occupying the hotels....arrangements had been made for them to move to a shelter for Friday night---giving their hotel rooms to UMHB players....but that feat could not be rearranged in short order for a Thursday night stay....yes, the main issue was SAFETY of all people involved.....
It is a shame UMHB must suffer the rath of Hurricane Rita...but that is life....

GO CRU.....

mcmfan---the decision to not play the LA game was a mutual decision---not just UMHB's---

Josh, how do you "reverse lookup" someone from an IP address?  (You can respond via email...)

No word on Alvarez funeral...

Did anyone see the JV game last night?  (HSU @ UMHB)

If so, please comment.

Thanks.

To my knowledge, the roads UMHB would of taken to get to Alpine was converted to a one way street going north for evacuees. Other routes the same way. Also, who wants their kids playing in a football game when a category 4 hurricane is headed towards them. Could you imagine if they would of played, and something would of went wrong. My grandma used to always say, "Better safe then sorry." Life goes on. UMHB just has to go to the Stagg Bowl to get a ring this year. Wasn't so bad last year. Let em do it again. Go Cru!!!!
