Weak Safety,  if the UMHB-LC were played and UMHB won, they would receive the automatic bid.  I still think they would have a home game in the first round.  I think Ralph talked last year or early this year about how a 10 team conference was hurt by playing so many conference games in their QOWI.  Ralph?

True, true.  My bad.

In that scenario, it looks like HSU would be on the bubble in regards to a Pool C (judging by their #8 South Region ranking), with only a loss to UMHB!  What a shame that would be.

Radio KWED in Seguin says Salinas likely won't play tomorrow. On the bench with injuries -- a sad way to end his career.

Weak Safety,  It would have been a crime if UMHB had gotten the automatic bid and HSU was on the bubble.  It happened to us 2 years ago, so I guess it could happen again.  I hope not!

[Ignore the following message.  I wish I could claim that I was high on prescription medication when I posted it.]

I'm a bit worried about HSU showing up at #8 all of a sudden.  I have to think that if DePauw wins over #1 North (but only #19 ranked) Wabash that they could vault over HSU to #8.

Hopefully [!] if this happens someone else up there will lose, or the AA takes 9 teams from the South to make up for the misfits in the East.

Ron, not sure I understand your comment.  Who are you implying would stay home in the South.  HSU as #8?
(HSU has an automatic bid, if they beat TLU, right?)  Then who?

Please comment...what the repercussions would be.

Thanks.

Duh.  Of course I'm an idiot.  Stupid hurricane.

There's no way HSU stays home if they win tomorrow.

Also happened to a 9-1 HSU in 1998.  That was the first year for the conference in Division III I believe, and the ASC didn't yet get an automatic qualifier.  At least we have the AQ now to prevent the boneheads from doing too much damage to the Texas stepchildren!
