McM catches Menlo and AC.
I know LaGrange plays LC and MC.
Do HPU and HSU have return matches against their WIAC opponents?
UMHB has CNU.  Who else?
I hope that SRSU can fill their schedule.

Who is AC keeping on their schedule?
Has Trinity picked up anyone else to replace RHIT?

Bill McCabe

Ralph,  Thanks for the info.  I don't know if UMHB will play Willamette again or not.  Do you have any idea on Trinity?  I would assume they will continue to play TLU.

Ron Boerger

Last time I checked (last week) Trinity still had an awful lot of openings posted on the 2006 open dates board.

You guys at UMHB need to forget about the playoff schedule and whether you get home field advantage after next week and just make sure you attend to business against Trinity!  You represent the ASC and I want to be able to watch y'all on EPSN in the Stagg Bowl as I did last year, but since you got ambushed once already by HPU I'd be real careful to study that game (which I'm sure Trinity is doing) to make sure there's no repetition.

No, no McM,

The crusaders need to start thinking about how they're going to beat Linfield! If they're going to win the national championship, they have to get past the Panthers.  Trinity?  They're no challenge.  You should get on board with the others that are looking ahead to other rounds!

What does Wesley run?  The crusaders need to make sure they are impressive when they are at home in two weeks.

Here are the official south region seeds from Pat:

South Bracket (seeded No. 4)

at 1. Trinity (Texas) (9-0)
3. Mary Hardin-Baylor (8-1)

7. Ferrum (9-1)
at 4 Wesley (9-1)

at 5. Bridgewater (Va.) (8-1)
6. Washington and Jefferson (9-1)

8. Johns Hopkins (8-2)
at 2. Thiel (10-0)

SOUTH region seeded #4?  What a joke.   There are SO many good teams in the (l)east.

Another exciting week in the ASC.  I got back from Mississippi College yesterday and have some thoughts on the HPU/MC game and events from the last week of the season.

First the HPU/MC game.  It was Mississippi College senior recognition day.  MC came to play and gave HPU everything they could handle.  They have played most of their games pretty close.  I think they are a better team then their record indicates.  Good Luck against Belhaven this Thursday.

HPU's offense didn't show up until the second quarter.  The defense kept HPU in this game and made two key 4th and very short stops.  HPU Senior Defensive End Matt Stephens (#7) made the  pick that tied the ASC record for most Int in a season and returned it to inside the 10 yard line.  I beleive he was also making his 40th start for HPU.  What a great way to end his college career.

Defensive Back Brandon Stevens (#26) made the pick that broke the ASC record for most Int in a season.  The pick was in the second OT.  MC got the ball first in the second OT.  Stevens made the pick at the 11 yard line and returned it to the 21.  What is really amazing is that he injured his knee and was pulled from the game and then put back in for the overtime.

All said and done HPU won an exciting game.  Finished the season 7-3 overall and 7-2 in the ASC, tied for second in the ASC.  A great accomplishment for  HPU and first year Coach Redwine.

Now we need to get behind UMHB as they are in the playoffs.  Show the rest of DIII football about the ASC.

Question: Are all playoff games slated to kickoff at noon?

Just out of couriosity, would HSU have had a better chance of getting a Pool C bid if HPU had lost to MC?  Having HPU and HSU tied for second place in the ASC clearly made it impossible.

Thanks cruprez...

According to the seedings previously mentioned, it looks like if UMHB defeats Trinity, it will host its second round game. If that is correct, I hope to be in attendance.

It would be sweet if they could host the quarterfinal game, also.  It was really cold in Pennsylvania last year, although no snow like Ohio.

Ron Boerger

Thiel would have the advantage there ... but Thiel has already fluked their way to three OT wins.

Then again, 1, 3, and 4 are in the UMHB/TU side of the bracket leaving Thiel to deal with 8 in the first round and the 5/6 winner in the second.  Just another way our "friends" in the AA have helped the TX teams.
