Here's a link to an article in the Temple Daily Telegram this morning about the new Indoor Football League that will be playing in Belton at the Bell County Expo center.  They named ther team and first player.  Team will be the Barracudas and the first player is former ASC and McMurry star Rory Peacock.  I remember his days at McMurry and he was salty!!

I saw Peacock earlier this year at Wes Tidwells (McMurry Alum) wedding and he was playing for a arena team in Odessa I believe.  I believe he was one of the top WR in the league.  Anyways, Bell county should be a good fit for him and his family since they live in the area.

Ron, with the size differential, I think that could be a key to the outcome Saturday.  The UMHB line is big and physical, plus the running backs are fast and talented.  Rollins had a big game last year against Trinity.

The paper said they are very quick.  However, if UMHB pounds the ball straight at them they can negate the quickness.  Should be interesting.  The SA paper also said that Trinity had put a lot of emphasis on conditioning so they don't wear down in the 4th quarter.

I'll take speed and edurance over size any day

Except when you have size, speed and endurance! :)

Great!  23 hours 49 minutes and counting....

GOSH, I just love football....I can't believe my youngest is almost through with his career...ah and a good one it has been....State Championship (High School-Paul Pewitt 1998) Conference champions and played in the Division III National Championship game...there's only one thing that could make it better--NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!  GO CRU....keep focused, play hard every play and you shall be rewarded.

See you all at the game....

I'll be there.  There was a nice article today in the San Antonio Express about the game.  Of course, it is mostly about Trinity.  You can get it at www.mysantonio.com.  It seems the Trinity d line is a lot smaller than our o line.

Where do you go to read the after I clicked on the link I couldn't find anything about the acrticle

The size differential will only be a factor if UMHB is ready to play- not looking ahead, not taking Trinity lightly.  UMHB is at a disadvantage in that they've already been there, done that, and probably can't wait to get through the playoffs to get another shot at the title.  They know they have to play hard but they also know they're the better team physically.  Trinity's been in that position before and it cost them against PLU in 2000, nearly against HSU the previous week.  If UMHB is flat, TU's quickness is going to get the best of them.

Trinity is seeking to reestablish themselves and looking for redemption after last year, but it's bigger than that for them.  If they don't break through the ASC this year, that might be a concrete statement that they have been fully supplanted as king of Texas.

UMHB has less incentive in this one, but Trinity could be feeling more pressure.

Bill McCabe

Roocru,  I look forward to seeing you at the game.  Glad crualum39 is going to be there, too.

I think UMHB has just as much incentive if not more.  They are out to show everybody last year wasn't a fluke and they deserve to be in the national championship.  They know they could have beaten Linfield last year and want that shot again and a chance at the national title.  If thats not incentive enough to go out and kick somebody's butt i don't know what is.

UMHB's defensive line will be a huge factor in controlling the game.  Watching them play against HPU, they definitely were the main reason they were in that game that day.  Just about every play they had at least 2 players in the backfield chasing down Adam Johnson who did a great job for the most part avoiding the rush.  But there were times that that D-line just swallowed up HPU's line and they got to the running game and the QB.

TU will need some great blocking and have to give their QB some time or else they won't be putting up many yards or points.

Just wanted to wish the Crusaders good luck againts TU this weekend before I left work for the day.

I totally disagree.  I don't think anyone doubts UMHB on any level.  I wouldn't say they have anything to prove to anyone at this point.  By your logic, Linfield is trying to prove that last year wasn't a fluke because they were new to the Stagg Bowl.  Everyone knows UMHB is superior to everyone except Linfield.  So do they, which might end up biting the Cru if they're looking ahead to the Wildcats.

HPU?  Didn't they lose that game?  Why are you making your case for UMHB by referencing a loss?  Maybe I'm confused.  It's like you're saying the pass rush was so good that it kept them in the game against HPU.  They should have killed HPU, and no matter how good the pass rush was, it's obsolete if you don't score more points than the other team.

Trust me, I think UMHB is will probably win, but your arguments need some work.

Hey, y'all at UMHB: Remember 72-0?  Since you did that to us at McM how about showing that it wasn't a fluke by doing it again to Trinity?  Good luck and put the Tigers in the zoo!
