Posters who have been around a while have the ability to "applaud" or "smite" other posters. Smites lower the karma and one person can smite/applaud another every 12 hours.

There's no logic to it. I've gotten some smites since last week just for pointing out things I saw at last week's game. Somoene over on the ODAC board gave me a smite when I pointed out that Wesley had two good receivers, not one. It happens.

Yeah, I took essentially three days off the board because of a death in the family, and I dropped 11 points because two sad little Johnnie fans are mad at me for thinking UWW is a better team.

So don't let karma worry you too much. Someone with an axe to grind can hurt you over the course of a few days.
