It has to be a pretty good safety to be selected all region ahead of Josh Kubiak.  Josh is the best safety I've seen in the past 3 seasons.

I will second that Bill I think Kubiak is pretty dang good. I truely believe he has the ability to play at the next level.

You mean Wesley isn't the only school that has kids just not come back? Can I ask how much a state school costs in you conference?
I think some of it at Wesley is money. But it's just not the players that don't play, I've seen some kids with promising sr. yrs. coming up go away!
And I know some of it is grades and other "things"

YOur thoughts?
Football !!! The ultimate team sport. Anyone who plays DIII football is a winner...

PA_wesleyfan,

There is only one state school in the ASC, Sul Ross State, in Alpine.  That is in far west Texas.  I would think the cost there would be 10-12,000.  All the other private schools are much higher.  Cost is a factor in maintaining players.

Ron Boerger

www.collegeboard.com will give you costs for just about any school.

Thomas, In the 3 years we have followed UMHB, they have lost most of their players to graduation, a few to grades and some to the cost.

Hey, who is going to run the powerlifting judges crew from Hardin Simmons this year.  I need to find some meets.

Ron,  Which teams lose the most due to graduation?

Do you mean coaches or players?  Because if you mean players, we lose 31 players, most of whom are either on 1st or 2nd team :( :( :(
Brownies for Film Day--Now there's a Slogan I can live with!!!:)  Go EAGLES!

A couple of things that have been stewing:

Get off Josh Kubiak's nuts. If anything he is the most overrated player in the conference. Off course he makes a bunch of plays/tackles in the run game, they play him 6 yards from the line of scrimmage. The FS is always unaccounted for in blocking schemes. This practice is what killed them in the Wesley game. Leaving their corners one on one on the outside with no deep help, so they kept getting toasted.

Mary-Hardin Baylor only loses players to graduation? What was their freshman class this year? 120? So they had 120 seniors this past season? Everybody loses players because of financial aid and grades.

HSU is losing one hell of a coach. They have by far had the best o-line in conference over the past few years.

The conference has mad unbelievable strides the past few seasons. On any given day, anybody can beat anybody else. Can't wait for '06!

old fart,   very few of the kids that left UMHB were not playing on the varsity.  They have lost 3 good defensive players for a variety of reasons that were discussed, but most of the players left due to graduation.

As far as Kubiak being burned, I think most of the plays were man to man coverage.  Josh was doing what he was supposed to on the plays.  He is a great hitter and has great instincts.  You sound a little jealous of his ability.  He has made big play after big play, just look at last years HSU game.  He turned that around with 2 INTs.

Whatever Dude he would be overrated if he didn't make those plays and he still got reconized. He gets noticed because he  does make  plays and smokes people on the tackle that gets him reconized for his outstanding play. And in the 4 games I saw this year UMHB against Hardin-Simmons, Hardin-Simmons vs. McMurry UMHB vs Trinity, and Hardin Simmons vs. TLU you are right the FS for HSU, TLU and McMurry were unaccounted for but not the FS for UMHB there was a tight end or an uncovered line man coming for number 5 a good majority of the time. But hey I only saw four games.

What kind of attrition does the Wesley team have?  On a different note, what year is #24?  I think I will live longer if we don't have to see him again in the playoffs!
NO, Tusky, You cannot MOON Dr. Geisert!

PA_wesleyfan

Kevin Nelson is a Senior
But Larry Beavers is a Soph. And Marcus Lee is a Frosh.

I think they said they started with 150  in camp and there were still about 120 left. Football players that don't make it and that are staying in school has risen but they still dismiss some for bad grades and some leave for other reasons.
