Weather report for Belton on Saturday:

Saturday
Oct 07 Cloudy / PM Sun
Hi: 85° Lo: 61°
Mostly cloudy skies. High 85F and low 61F. Winds SE at 5 to 10 mph.

I'm glad there is no rain in the forecast.

Me too, though as we saw a couple of weeks ago the forecast can change in a couple of days.

I'm hitching a ride to Belton with Josh, now I have to figure what side I want to sit on.  This will be the first time I've attended either an HSU or UMHB game without having the luxury of sitting in the press box and getting fed!   :'(   :D

Hey, roocru and I are going to make sure you get some BBQ after the game, Ron!   8)

Ron,

One advantage to visitors side seating is its all general admission.  You can find a good spot to  watch the game and not pay as big a ticket price.  Count on the home side filling up, but there are a few good reserved seats usually available in row d.

As far as food goes... is anyone interested and getting food somewhere after the game?  I'll need to eat before heading back home and it would be great to meet some of y'all.
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

It looks like it will be strength against strength with HSU and UMHB.  HSU's offense against UMHB's defense.  I know the HSU offense is explosive and the UMHB secondary has an All American in Kubiak and a D3 football team of the week member in Williams.  Barcek is back at 1 corner after sitting out a year.  This is going to be fun to watch.  So it will probably come down to the game being decided by the HSU defense or the UMHB offense.   :o

I agree Bill, and the best thing that the UMHB D can do for the offense is help them to win the field position battle but a defensive touchdown or two wouldn't hurt either  ;) My dad and I are looking forward to catching the action this weekend. This will be my first time to see the Cru in action this year.  Any standouts this year that haven't been mentioned in the posts yet?  How about the O-line? Just trying to keep up the great posts this week.  Look forward to some responses. :)

Sorry to hear that you are going to miss the game, but I hope you guys do well in yours.  I will have to try and send you an email or something.  Definitely have some huge happenings going on up here in the metroplex.  I too hope all is well with you.  We will definitely have to find some time to catch up maybe a barbeque? :) :) Looking forward to great performances from both teams, and glad I will be able to catch the action.

I wonder what kind of attendance we will see in Belton?

The 2004 attendance was 4,740, I would imagine at least that many will show up on Saturday.

crualum75

Well, the weather is supposed to be good.  I don't know if it will be record attendance, but I would think a few thousand would be a reasonable estimate.  The intensity of the game, and its impact on both teams season, will be sure to make the spectator envrionment great no matter the size of the crowd. (I personally hope they have a huge showing).

Ron, a large number of those fans in 2004 left early.  I sure hope that doesn't happen Saturday.

Bill,
That really ticked me off! I don't get leaving because you're losing.  If your a fan, you suffer with the team just like you rejoice with the team.  It's one thing to leave early because you can't walk well and you want to avoid the crowd at the exodus like my dad (even then he waits in the car listening to the game until the end before leaving).  It's another if you leave because you can't take defeat.

The UMHB game notes are out on the Cru website.  It has some excellent information on both teams as well as two-deep projections and rosters.  Be sure to check it out !!
