All this talk about the UMHB offense being sub par I looked up the conference standings they have scored the 2nd most points in the conference behind Mississippi College. I remember earlier in the week somebody posting saying the UMHB offense is never really brought up yet they just keep putting up points I guess that is true after all.

Bill McCabe

billybaroo, great point!  I guess its all in the eye of the beholder.  Also, these are the same people that said UMHB could not play defense!  Just kidding on the 2nd point!

minni

start hangin 85 points on inferior teams!!!!

Bill McCabe

i'm certain HSU has more class than that.

Bill McCabe

HSU would probably have the most points if their game with LC had not been cancelled.  Add the 28 they had when the game stopped and they have scored the 2nd most points.

minni

its not a fact of class.  i have been part of many 60, 70 , and even an 80 point game at HSU.  We have class we just score a lot.

thats funny they had 200 yards of total offense so I guess the offense wasnt what really won the game for them their defense played great and UMHB had to go less than 20 yards on 3 occasions to score so I dont know many offenses that wouldnt put some points up if their made that many plays...also HSU got in their orange formation on the last series which is 5 wide which forces mhb to cover  and not bring their tough blitzes and it paid off also hsu took 3 shots downfield the entire game all completions!!!just some food for thought as well!! :o

minni, Tech nevers takes out their starters.  I doubt that has been the case with HSU.  I don't think you should ever tell the reserves not to try and score when they are in the game.  UMHB has put up a lot of points on occasion, but lots of people played.

Bill McCabe

hsutd73,  maybe they should have gone to that earlier, hmmm.  I remember Barcek breaking up a pass down field, almost intercepted.  What ever HSU did, they only scored 16 points.

so we have to punish the offense for the defense giving them a short field

The game is over, guys.  Analysis, IMO, is OK--but we're starting to get a bit petty.

I was upset Saturday afternoon about the loss, myself--because I really thought we could get it done this year.  But UMHB has built a quality program, and we have to give credit where credit is due.

I'm hoping we can win out and get a Pool C bid into the playoffs, then return the favor from 2004.

no not at all im just saying im not convinced the offense is that good  the only had one long drive the entire game and 200 total yards but i am convinced the defense is that good and yes maybe they should have gone to that formation earlier...i just think umhb made corrections at halftime and adjusted well and HSU didnt and the crusaders came up with huge playes

I revert back to my previous statement a few weeks ago that I was hammered a little for.  "Josh Kubiak is the fastest white boy I have ever seen." ;D

Cru, I might change that quote to "Josh Kubiak is the fastest white boy I have ever seen in a D3 football uniform."

I would encourage Josh to run in the ASC Track meet in the spring.

The ASC had 3 of the Top 10 100M times in the NCAA  last year,

McM's Hanneus Ollison and Bert Green and HPU's Greg Nixon.

I bet he would but UMHB does not have a track team don't know why they wouldn't after watching their football team they would probably score a lot of points at a meet
