This is my first post as a non-player. I played 4 years at UMHB, and it was the best 4 years of my life.  Last saturday was the 2nd time i've seen the cru play this year. Overall I think the team is on the verge of something great. The defense is amazing, probably the best ever at UMHB. The offense has alot of potential. Every year there is a break out game for the Cru offense. For some reason it always takes the offense longer to evolve than the defense. It was like that the 4 years i played. I'm sure coach Fred and the team is waiting on that one game that all phases click. Once that happens I don't see many teams being able to compete with them. After reading the board for a while, I am very impressed with the "quality" of posts. I remember at one time this board consisted of 100 HSU fans all beating there chests for no reason. I think 5 victories in 5 years for the cru  has changed that a little.  I really enjoyed the game saturday. It's been really hard not being out there and saturday magnified it alot. I also was blessed with 3 HSU fans sitting in front of me so that was fun also. I can't wait to see them play against Whitewater. Yall take care of them Wildcats this week. Hopefully you won't have to dress under the stands and make half-time adjustments under the stands like we used to do. LOL Good luck cru, and keep rolling.

Also, to roocru and Bill McCabe. I really enjoyed playing with your son's. I learned alot from them.  There are many memories of inside drill with them, especially with BP.

How did you do that, moving your posts around in the time continuum and all?

Welcome to the board, too, btw.

Yessir,
when did you graduate? I'm guessing you played LB. Number? Just trying to figure out who you are, since we played together.

I am also glad that there are a variety of posters.  I think that each team has a handful or so of followers who both keep up with their team and give educated commentary on either their team or others around the ASC.

UMHB vs. LC any thoughts?
Anybody willing to throw out a point spread?

I will go with UMHB defense having another great game along with UMHB offense stepping up again and UMHB winning by two touches or more.

Great post, minni!  It makes you want to play the game for all of the right reasons! :)

I agree minni. That is a very good video clip.  I think that story has a lot of potential to stop nay-sayers who say athletics do not greatly improve a students excitement for school and ultimately keep many students out of trouble. Good clip and thanks for sharing.

The new ATR column is out, and I suggest everyone check it out.

And, a note for Chris Allman.  Chris, as painful as it is to read about last Saturday's HSU loss to UMHB (as a dyed-in-the-wool HSU fan), I must say that this is the best column you've written.

Very well done, and keep up the good work!

Chris, I agree. I thought that the column was very well done.  Since I played with some of those original defenders you spoke about, I also think you did a good job pointing out the past defenders were definitely high caliber athletes.  Look forward to more columns, and any article praising the crusader tradition of football is all good by me  ;)
