Thanks... ;)

I would say I at least went 50/50 in inside drill during my carreer. I had lots of fun and several headaches. For all who don't know, I wore #78 throughout my carreer and played several different positions. It sucked that it took until the 7th game of my senior year to find my best one.  To you #75, I learned alot. Hearing you argue Coach George down for them knockdowns. LOL I think this weekend might be the game all phases click. It was LC both my freshman, and Junior year.  However, It was Mississippi my sophmore and senior years. It has to be this week or next. Keep getting better and that's all that matter.

UMHB is very close to running on all cylinders.  Last week the offense definitely came around, particularly in the second half.  I also believe that all areas of the game will be clicking in the next week or two, which will be perfect to prepare UMHB for tougher and tougher competition in the coming weeks.  Yessir, I am glad to hear that you are doing well. I believe I owe you a congratulations to you and yours. so Congrats.  Hope all is well. I have some news that I am going to try to email to cru alumni later today.

I am looking forward to watching the CRU when they invade Pineville on Saturday. I hope this is the game that everything comes together and they dominate for four quarters.

LC is pumped up about playing UMHB and the local news is hyping it as the most significant game since the return of Wildcat football. The news cast noted that LC is 3-1 (technically correct since the HSU game was canceled though the Cowboys were leading 28-12 in the second quarter). There was passing mention that UMHB is 4-1, but nothing said about the CRU's #7 ranking or huge win over HSU.

Go UMHB! Unleash some Purple CRUsh on LC on Saturday and leave no doubt!

Kelly,

Did you picture's byline always say"...UMHB and LC?" If not does it now for the double entendre?
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

Toby,

Good eye... originally it said "UMHB and Linfield." With our move to Louisiana, I wanted to show my support for Louisiana College - so I changed it to LC which can stand for Linfiend and/or Louisiana College. And, ironically enough, both teams are the Wildcats. I now have three D3 teams that I follow. Of course one a bit more closely than the other two - Go CRU!

Unlike when we were in McMinnville, I do not have season tickets for LC. In part because I knew I would be out of town for a couple of home games this year and in part because I knew that I wanted to make some UMHB home games. I wanted to make the HSU game, but had a conflict. I will be at homecoming on Nov. 11 and I am trying to work out to be at the Whitewater game in a couple of weeks. If you make either, let me know. It would be great to see you.

UMHB should be able to take care of business on Saturday. However, the Cats do have some speed at the skill positions and one big, quick d-lineman. I do believe that new head coach Dennis Dunn will have LC very good in three to four years. I will root for them to beat everyone but UMHB.

Go CRU!

Speaking of HSU, I saw this today on the AD's blog:

ABILENE, Texas - After the last column on football scheduling, I received a question about the Cowboys playing a football game on the East Coast. We have attempted to schedule games with Division III schools in the East region but without success. My speculation is that the close proximity of schools in the East allows for more scheduling opportunities than the schools in the South and West region have. We will continue to look at the possibility of playing a school in the East: however, I think we will have a better chance of finding an opponent in another region.

There ya go, Rowan.  Give John Neese a call since you say it's hard to find a non-conference opponent.  Of course you may start the season with an L instead of just ending with one  ;)

Ron, I think that would be great.  Rowan should definitely come play a Texas team.  It will give one team or the other reason to brag (HSU in my opinion) and the other a harsh reality check (Rowan in my opinion).  Either way though it would be a great game and get some fans in the stands for a great D3 matchup.

Big non-conference match-ups will continue to do alot not only for the two teams chances of getting into the playoffs, but make for some great out of conference games for spectators to watch throughout the country.  Good time to point out the great job done by Coach Fred and vp of athletics Shipp @ UMHB for scheduling the big non-conference game against whitewater in the middle of the conference race.

HSU v. ETBU  How does ETBU look this year.  I know the record isn't great, but I was just wondering how competitive the game with HSU might be. Any comments on this matchup?

I would probably tend to agree with you Ron, but what do you think the score will be.  Worse than Trinity? You think that ETBU will get on the board?

The Cru defense will do a great job I am sure. Shutout is a definite possibility/probability.
What do you think Ron? Anyone else?

Board is a little more quiet this week but I guess that is to be expected. Any predictions scores.

I say HSU 42 ETBU 7
UHMB 38 LC 10
TLU 28 HPU 24

and those are the only match ups I know about and I am not sure on the TLU HPU playing each other I just thought that I heard that so if not that is my prediction when they do play.
