I bet that was you...had headphones and a grey t-shirt with the purple cowboy on back....I was sitting right underneath the press box....just below Dr. McGraw......I brought my 10 year old daughter with me and we went with my in-laws....I was sending updates to the in-game update on by Blackberry.....

I should have said something, but was not sure it was the same person!!!

Yes that was me!!!!!  Ok next time say hello!  I had a great time at that game.  We won and my kid got to play a lot.  He was on the kickoff team so he had a lot of action.  Finally recorded his first tackle.  He also got in on defense for the first time this year.  Thanks Coach (if your reading)!  Put him in some more next week!!!!

I want to thank Ralph Turner for taking time from his busy schedule to explain to me exactly how Pool A, B and C work.  It was a pleasure speaking with you.

UMHB needs to take care of business and keep improving. Stay focused on MC and dominate this week just like last Saturday.

UMHB had a few injuries against LC, but Coach Fred told the Temple Daily Telegram that the CRU's depth should prevent there being too much of a drop off by the players who will step in and hopefully step up.

OK...I was at the HSU/ETBU game on Saturday...first game I have been to this year....what is the deal with Dr. McGraw (the announcer) announcing a first down and the entire crowd saying it with him?!?!?!?  ???  Completely annoying.....has anybody else noticed this?!?!?!

Just wondering!!!

Kelly Boggs

I made my first UMHB game on Saturday and the CRU fans did the same thing at LC. Upon the CRU picking up a first down, one gentleman would stand up and yell, "That's another UMHB..." And all the fans would yell together "First down," as they all made the first down motion.

That's exactly what HSU was doing.....

I'm just glad there are fans there who are getting involved and having fun.

kickhoe,

Imagine how annoying it is for the home team when UMHB shows up with as many fans in tow as the home team has coming and shouting that.  My question is what's up with Dr. McGraw's whole "the thunder roles" thing at a touchdown?  It doesn't bother me just makes me wonder where that came from.  It does not make sense to me.
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

Ralph Turner

The McMurry 2006 Media guide says that this is the 77th meeting for Sul Ross State and McMurry.  The series dates back to McMurry's first year, 1923, when McMurry won 12-0.  That was also the year that Sul Ross became a 4-yr institution.

It should be another good year.  This seems to be the series in the ASC in which the most number of games have been played.  The HSU media guide shows a 41-0 HPU victory in 1917 as their first of the 58 previous meetings.

McMurry and Howard Payne have now played 69 games since 1927.

mhb8904, I actually think that the "the thunder roles" goes back to a 14th Century question on the Legitimacy of Anabaptistic Apostolic Succession.  ;D :D ;D

The UMHB fans at the LC game were an exuberant bunch. I am looking forward to joining them and many, many other CRU supporters at the Whitewater game.

mhb8904,

Are going to be able to make the WW game? If so, perhaps we can get together. I would be glad to treat you to lunch.

I'd be glad to take you up on that, but unfortunately I have a liberation theology class that weekend.  I had arranged my presentations around the game so I could miss class, but a friend from MHB who is moving to Kansas unexpectedly showed up in Abilene last weekend so I missed then.  I guess I'm listening to the feed on the computer, if it works.

 :( How well I understand...  :(

If for some reason the feed is not working, I will be glad to call you with updates. I will e-mail my cell phone number.

mhb8904,
I think that started in the very beginning....the stands being aluminum, they really can be loud....he just wanted everyone to stomp on the stands.......

Bill,
Hey, I think it is great that people get involved, just seemed a little cheesy to me....just my opinion!!!   ;D
