For all you HSU fans that want to see the Cowboys ranked higher than UMHB in a poll, here is the most recent AFCA poll
http://www.ncaasports.com/football/mens/polls/polls/diviii-afca

HSU #11
UMHB #14

I am sure another one will be coming out soon and with UMHB's poor performance against ETBU the CRU might even drop a few spots.

Feel better?

Holy Moly!!!!

I am not asking that HSU be ranked higher in the polls than UMHB!!!!   :o

If a win is a win....like Bill and Catland are saying....then a loss is a loss....regardless of who it is.....

I totally agree with UMHB being ranked higher than HSU....they beat them, fair and square.....but UMHB has also lost 2 games to other teams.....

I know that the D3Football and the AFCA polls don't mean a hill of beans, but they sure are talked about a lot!!!  I look at the polls every Sunday afternoon, just like everybody else.....all I am doing is throwing out some questions on how somebody is ranked.

The NCAA Regional Rankings are the important rankings at the moment....UMHB being higher than HSU is probably right based off of the formula plus HSU missing 1 game.....no problems with that at all....my questions have been about the D3Football Top 25.....not the regional rankings....

Finally, Pat, I know what standings are and what the Top 25 poll are!!!!  ;)

QuoteAnyone given any thought to all-conference selections and the MVPs?  I would have Neal for offensive MVP and Kubiak for defensive MVP.  Pretty good stretch!

I agree with you Bill.....probably the obvious choices!!!

Imagine what Neal's #'s would be if he ever played an entire game!!!   :o

The 2 games that I have been to this season, he was sitting on the bench after the 1st series of the 2nd half!!!

The UMHB JV squad beat HSU tonight. The Jr CRU finished the season 8-0. Congrats to the CRU and Head JV coach Jeff Shinn & his assistants. The CRU played three QB's and all three threw a TD pass. Bodes well for the future for the CRU.

Found out today that Austin Davidson will be back at QB for the Lobos this weekend.  Definite boost to the offense.  Definitely showed last Saturday how much we missed him under center.

fanatic,

Thanks for the report on the CRU JV. Sounds like UMHB is prepared is in the process of reloading even as the current season continues.

Congrats to the Purple CRUsh JV and the coaches for an undefeated season!

I'm glad to here he has recovered quickly.  Good luck this weekend.
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

TX2OK

way to go Cru.  Still keeping up the dominance!  Congrats to the Crusaders JV for goin undefeated and winning the "JV national championship"

Coach Shinn hope you enjoyed your Gatorade bath.

Take care of Howard Payne, and get ready for the playoffs.

Tune in to FSN sat. at 11:30 Baylor vs. OSU.   All important game for Bowl eligibility!

Pat, Ralph, or Ron,

Who will be heading up the playoff picks tonight?

Ron Boerger

I don't know, but I would guess mostly Pat and some Keith.

SRDAD

That's great news, SR97! Now get ready for the third longest road trip in the NCAA!    GO LOBOS!!!!!!!!!!!

crufootball

I might be not correct, but does it say that UMHB is going to host Christopher Newport in the playoffs. I know this is just guessing right now by D3football, but I can't imagine that is going to make the CNU fans very happy.

Bill McCabe

I'll be surprised if Neal and Kubiak aren't named MVPs.  Any suggestions on other all conference selections?

How about coach of the year???  Even though UMHB and HSU have played well....I think I would have to give it to the Sul Ross coach.  He has done a great job in turning that program around.

Bill McCabe

I wouldn't have any problem with that choice for coach of the year.
