This may have already been said but the HSU Men's and Women's Soccer Teams are ASC Champs and the Volleyball Team is also ASC Champs.  Girls Soccer plays in Tacoma, Washington and the Men's Soccer and Women's Volleyball team play down in San Antonio against Trinity.

Congrats to those teams and the dominance of athletic teams at HSU.

Sorry just had to give them props, now back to football!!!!!

can anyone give me a good reason why trinity is second in the regional rankings? It seems like UMHB should be second followed by hsu then trinity considering trinity lost to a team that both UMHB and  HSU beat by 3 touchdowns and 4 touchdowns respectively ??? ???....just wondering what everyone elses take on this is and i wasnt sure if this had been brought up before but any feedback on this would be great

hsutd73, especially since they lost to TLU and HSU beat TLU.  Only loss to UMHB.  I'm not sure I can explain it or understand it.

IMO this is strictly bc UMHB has 2 L's and Trinity 1.   Having an additional loss (even a good loss in this case) overcomes the common opponent outcome, and the fact that the Trinity loss to TLU was very early in the season may have something to do with it too.  Not saying Trinity is a better team but I can see how people unfamiliar with the region might make the call.  Since UMHB beat HSU, therefore you have Trinity, UMHB, HSU in that order.

After all, CNU beat UMHB early in the season and have the same record, but look where they are.   ;)

Thanks Ron.  Makes sense to me!

That makes no sense to me.  I think HSU should be hosting Trinity not the other way around (If it plays out that way).

UMHB should be 1 followed by HSU and then Trinity.  HSU's only loss was to a ranked team (UMHB).  Trinity lost to an unranked TLU team.  Then throw on the common opponent theory and now that makes sense to me.

Not that it really matters any I just want to see the Cowboys in the playoffs.  Of course Abilene is a lot closer to home (for me) to watch a game.  But road trips are fun.

Dang right they are especially road trips to San Antonio but hey that might just be me.

I dont think it will happen but if HPU beats UMHB then would the Cru lose the home play-off game even though they are still the conference champs?

kickhoe

I'm assuming the reason Trinity would host HSU is that Trinity will be the conference winner.  I wouldn't mind the Trinity/HSU game here in SA!!!  It would take me 10 minutes to get there!!!!  ;D

Bill McCabe

I think the hosting of playoff games have nothing to do with being a conference champion.  The higher seed will host, unless they fail to submit the proper paperwork to the NCAA.

billybaroo, if UMHB loses to HPU, I think they will be on the road for all games.

If HSU does have to travel I will for sure make a weekend out of it!  Probably drive down Friday and stay the night both Friday and Saturday.  No place better than San Antonio~

Yeah the have this awesome piano bar there that i had such a good time at I almost missed the UMHB game the next day against them last year

would a UMHB loss hurt HSU's chances of getting a pool C?

Bill McCabe

I don't see how that would happen.  If it did, it would make no sense.  I think a UMHB loss moves HSU up the seedings.

minni

Bill my thinking behind it was having to fly UMHB out somewhere.  and giving the Pool C of HSU to another team they wouldnt have to fly somewhere.  Im trying to set up the worst situation in my head for HSU.  I dont know how the commitee could keep them out but stranger things have happened.
