One more question....how do you know the seeding rank so you can determine where you will play in seceeding rounds?  I know it is based on regional rankings

BTW---Thanks Pat for a job well done on TV today!

Bill McCabe

cruprez, the TV said no seedings, whatever that means.  Are brackets posted somewhere?

Agreed, the ASC gets no respect.  The worst match up in my mind is Millsaps and CMU.  Unbelievealbe.

Worst matchup in terms of travel or caliber of teams?

CNU85

Bill,

I think the travel issue is based on air vs bus. I read on the front page that the NCAA used a different mielage prgram than the one they tell the schools to use hwne determining if Millsaps should travel.....I don't think 9-10 miles should make a difference.....something doesn't smell right to me.

As far as other conferences with 2 teams...most of the teams are in regions where other conferences are close. We play W&J, yet W&L is closer. I'm sure there are 100 more variable considered and we just look at 1 or 2scenarios at a time.

exmajor, I am the biggest Majors fan on the board now.

I think that Millsaps got the best draw possible!!!!!!!!!

Way Big for the Majors!!!

Monkey Stomp the Tartans!!!  Bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;)

I know nothing about CMU, but I do know Pittsburgh is a long way from Jackson, and the Southern boys might get quite a chill in Western PA!

CNU85

Cruprez... I THINK (big I think)....teams are not seeded until the semifinals.
However, you have a good point.....there must be some unofficial seedings in order to determine location of round 2 games.

Bill McCabe

Ralph, I agree with you.  Millsaps has an excellent draw and if they play like they did against Trinity, they have a great shot at winning.

cruprez

CNU85--you are correct it is air vs bus....but some of their matchups just dont seem right...and while I tried to raise my boys with the notion that "life isnt fair" it still is bothersome to me how we have rules and guidelines but they only apply as long as they dont affect the $$$$$......

Ralph Turner

Okay tartan fans, you have to understand that we ASC fans think that the NCAA gifted you a big one!

If you really are good, then you will dispose of Millsaps by 3 touchdowns.

Millsaps lost to 2 ASC teams that finished in the bottom half of the conference.

If you cannot beat Millsaps at home, then you truly must realize how bad your program is, and what a big favor the NCAA selection committe did for the prestigeous UAA.

CNU85

Cruprez...I agree a lot of this stuff doean't make sense. But to give the NCAA d3 guys a little bit of credit....the admit up front that $$$$ is a determing factor.

Bill McCabe

Well, I thought HSU and UMHB would meet in the 2nd round, so we are playing a week early.  Should be a great game.  It is very hard to beat a good team twice in a season.

Ralph, do you think Millsaps or CMU should win their game?  It sounded like Millsaps was on fire Saturday.

Ralph Turner

I think that Wesley is #1, UMHB is #2, CNU is #3 and CMU is #4.

IMHO, we have

#1 Wesley hosting #8 Dickinson
#5 CMU hosting #7 Millsaps

#4 CNU hosting #6 W&J
#2 UMHB hosting #3 HSU.

As I said elsewhere, the UAA and CMU have been gifted a big one!!!

WLCALUM83

Hardin-Simmons figures to have a bit more motivation-to get even for the pasting UMHB put to them earlier. This poster, too, wishes this could have taken place in a later round. :-X :-\ ;)
