I would love to have a Q&A session with the commitee and find out what runs through their heads when they make these decisions.  Talk about a lashing from the fans.  Unfortunately we can sit here and be upset with the selections but its just like arguing with a referee, its just not going to change things.  Bill, yes I will be there this weekend!!!!

Toby, roocru, Bill, et. al.:  Ron and I--and possibly Ralph will be there Saturday.  Maybe we can all do Schoepfs' after the game again...

Early shameless plug:  I'll be at Saturday's game shooting photos for the site.  As always, please say "hi" if you can, and please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any special requests.

PS:  To the HSU guys who mugged for the camera yesterday during the fourth quarter, your shots WILL be up soon--Ryan is pretty busy right now getting ready for the playoffs, but I won't leave you hanging.  We aren't abilenesportz.com, you know!

Sorry Josh,

My son, CruAlum39, is coaching in the first playoff game of his career at 2:00 pm Saturday in Bryan.  I think I will watch that one instead.   ;)

The HSU-UMHB game will  come down to the same thing as it does every year:  can the UMHB defense stop the HSU offense.  They will need to pressure Neal into some bad throws and pick up some turnovers.  HSU will have just as big a challenge in stopping the UMHB offense.  In the first game, special teams went to UMHB.  I hope it is a good game.

Bill,

Agreed.  I however wish that whoever wins saturday will get pissed off enough that they crush everyone else in the region.
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

Bill McCabe

I hope so, too.  However, I doubt the winner of Saturday's game is going to worry too much about the fate of the other ASC member.

mhb8904, is the italicized word present in the Hebrew or the Aramaic texts there at Logsdon?   :D

No, but the KJV translates a Hebrew idiom that basically means "men" literally as the ones who pisseth on the wall. ;D

It's sad that the ncaa is so afraid of texas teams actually winning a nat. championship that they have to always give them the hardest road ever. I just think they enjoy sticking it to the Texas teams. Why? B/c they know we can play and we're for real. This is ridiculous and someone should call down the committee for changing how it does things on the day of selection. Cmon now, don't change it if you have used it all year. Oh and yah 500 miles vs. 900? That makes sense right? Well I'm just sad to see this again. B/c I know both umhb and hsu have the makings to be great teams, but are never truly given a chance to show it as they have to always win a state championship before playing the rest of the nation.

Some interesting stats for the HSU-UMHB game.  HSU averaged 40.5 pts per game and allowed 17 per game.  UMHB averaged 34 pts per game and allowed 12.  I'm sure we will see many more stats by Saturday.  This game has all the makings of being a classic.  I hope we have a great crowd and good weather.

How about 73 and clear on Saturday!!!

Sounds like a great day to be young and a Cowboy.  Only five more days, is it Saturday yet.  (just a spin off of the MNF commercials)

By this time of the season, there are injuries and players are banged up.  I'm just wondering what kind of shape both teams are in physically.
