UMHB will need to play much better than they did today.  They just seemed flat for most of the game and let W&J back in the game.  We couldn't convert when we needed to keep drives alive.  The wind was a real factor in the game, although W& J made a long drive into the wind in the 3rd quarter.

Wind should not be a factor that impacts an ASC team playing a home game in the fall.  We frequently have windy games in the fall.  It is W&J that should have been impacted  by the wind.

Wesley team speed and their passing game may be too much for UMHB.  McMUrry broke 3 long ones, 2 for TD's, on UMHB.  Can you imagine what a team as talented as Wesley can do?

Also, we are getting too deep in the playoffs for a team to commit as many penalties as UMHB did.  Can you honestly look at the game film and say that UMHB played an intelligent game, considering the number and nature of the penalties?

I know these are stern words, but UMHB was not impressive today!

It will be cold, windy and damp in Dover next weekend!

Ralph, I agree with you.  I thought the wind hurt W&J in the first half.  The wind held the ball up when it was thrown and there were several times I thought UMHB would intercept, but the W&J receiver had time to come back and knock down the ball.  They controlled the ball most of the 3rd when they were going into the wind.

Penalties have been a problem all year..  The UMHB defense only allowed 13 points and the final TD was scored with 5 seconds left.  I don't think it was a total disaster.  There will be days when you don't play your best, but you still have to find a way to win.  I never thought the game was in doubt, even though W&J closed to with 7 points.

Finally, I thought UMHB was very conservative in their play calling.  W&J could not stop the outside game, both option and sweep.  The DB made a great play to intercept the pitch.  And he had some speed.

play like that last week and they end up getting beat!?!  I guess thats more of a question from anyone who was at the game.

Did you listen to the game?

After the half, W&J came out with more intensity and focus. The CRU had out gained them 254 to 32 in the first half and only led by 13.

UMHB must do a better job in the red zone.

The CRU simply had more talent today... they played sub par and were very flat at times but were still able to win. They will need their "A" game if they are going to prevail against Wesley.

FWIW...

I know we beat the illegal substitution call in last week's game to death, but I saw the same penalty called against the defense in the Georgia vs Georgia Tech game. It came at the end of the game when Georgia was going for 2. GT was called for an illegal sub because the player that was leaving the game was in the huddle too long.

Again, FWIW

Congrats to UMHB on the win today, sounds like a better effort will be needed against Wesley next week.  Good luck!

Congrats to the Cru on the win. I wish it would of been by more points. The cru Defense came up big once again. They definately have to play better next week to beat Wesley. I would like to see a win against Wesley. A little payback for last year. Watchin the USC vs. ND game just a minute ago and USC got the same penalty as HSU did last week. A guy ran off the field late on the goal line. The penalty would of given ND a first down, however there was also another penalty. I guess the refs are trying to give the game to ND. ND scored and could of gotten the game close. Dang refs. Could of cost USC a National Championship game. Once again congrats to the Cru. I hope yall have a good week of practice and safe travel to the game. Me and the wife are still debating on going. Maybe i'll see yal there.
Walking on thin ice cuz someone lost......again.

USC actually had 12 men on the field during the play when they had that penalty called....and illegal participation is a 15 yard penalty so even if there is any way to justify the refs calling that penalty last week there is no way to justify only penalizing us 5 yards...they either made a call that doesnt exist last week or they just announced the wrong penalty...

I think this was disproven by a citation of the rules last week. Read back through the board. Even Josh Bowerman stopped harping on the play after that. :)

There are only 8 teams left and anything can happen in these games.  Hopefully, the Cru will put together a great game next week.
