I do agree i was noticing that when they would sub late in the game Will was the last to come out so i figured it was freshmen behind him which doesnt mean its a bad thing. Didnt know if anyone had insight to the frontrunners here or will they move an upper classman over?

Well you never know, they could have a transfer or an outstanding freshmen come in, the could move j shurme to that spot.  But you are right it was a freshman behind galusha and carrillio.  And I dont know much about the freshmen class this year.  So once again we shall see what off-season acquisitions are made!!!

Last week's poll results (sorry, new job is busting my butt):

Who wins in the second round?

UMHB in a walk -35 (70%)
UMHB in a squeaker -6 (12%)
W&J pulls the upset -3 (6%)
W&J pulls the upset BIGTIME -1 (2%)
Who cares, I'm a Cowboy fan -5 (10%)

Not really a walk but given that W&J trailed all but the last minute by double digits, not really a squeaker either.  New poll coming soon ...

minni, I meant HSU would have scored more points than UMHB.

It will be a monumental task to replace a QB as talented as Neal.

3 turnovers and 3 sacks and the Cru win on Saturday.  The offense will have to have 300 yards or more and control the clock.

Bill, I agree about the turnovers and sacks for UMHB on the defensive side of the ball: however, as I said on the "Fan Poll" board yesterday to me the most important thing will be us avoiding turnovers, finishing drives, and being able to be at least effective in our passing game. If we do all or at least most of those things I think we  have an excellent shot.  I also am cautiously optimistic that we have faced  significantly better competition and I hope that can be a factor as well. I guess we will find out Saturday!! I am excited to be there.  I saw the game in  Belton last year and I am confident we will be more ready to play this year. After the initial long touchdown run by Rollins to start the game last year, Wesley was the aggressor in every way in that game. They definitely outplayed and outschemed us that day.  Hopefully not this year!!

Should be an interesting weekend this weekend.  My heart is telling me No, they wont win, you are a Cowboy fan, but my brain is saying they are going to shut these guys down and win.  We shall see this weekend.  We saw what happened to the cru last time the had to travel like this, the travel got blamed for the loss!!  Well good luck this weekend and Go Cowboys!!!

Hopefully Wesley won't be able to drop back and throw the bomb time after time.  Interesting to note that UMHB has new corners this year.  Barcek is very fast and a ball hawk.  I look for him to make a big play.

UMHB will win if...

They finsih drives.
Don't make silly mistakes.
Pass for a fair amount of yardage and score 1 passing TD.

They will loose if...

They run the same play over and over and over...option play anyone?  Of course  that guy got in the backfield last week and caught the pitch, he new what was coming.  Run a different play.  More Play action!

Their 3rd and long D does not step up.  I don't have the statistics in front of me, but I would gues that the other team's first down percentage on 3rd down is over 70 percent.

Finally, I WILL be there.  My wife bought me a birthday plane ticket and I will see the game!  Go CRU!

If UMHB players do not hold on to the ball, they're going to lose.  End of story.
Been wrong before.  Will be wrong again.

I do agree.  But their D is very good.  If they can cause some turnovers themselves, that will also make it a good game.  This is something they have not done a lot of.  I expect at least 2 turnovers recovered in a close UMHB win.  It looks as if both teams love to run the ball and pass rarely.  I believe that the team that does the best through the air will win.

McMurry broke 3 long pass plays in UMHB, scoring 2 TD's and getting stopped by the CRU Defense inside the 10.

Wesley's Warrick appears to be a vastly superior QB to McM's QBs.  After listening to the McM-UMHB and watching the HSU-UMHB playoff game, I am rooting for UMHB to win, but I don't think that the UMHB secondary has been tested like they will be tested against Wesley, and maybe/hopefully ultimately tested by MUC.

As for Barcak, he needs to play within himself.  He had a very costly Unsportsmanlike Conduct penalty in the W&J game.  I don't think that UMHB has that much leeway vs. Wesley.
