Bill, he moved into administration, so he must have wanted to be closer to family in Ft Worth.

He lived in Fort Worth from 1983 to 2001.  He must have grandkids in Ft Worth.

I am glad for how he turned the TLU program around.  He helped solidify access to the ASC on the southern front.

I honestly believe that there is an abundance of football talent in Texas.  The key to ASC success is for D3 football to become "fashionable" as a post-high school activity.  I think that it is, especially with HSU and UMHB making consistent noise on the national level.

Bill, you personally know dozens of quality football players who decided to go off to college to drink, and to party, and to flunk out of a larger school.  We both know that if they had been back in the athlete/discipline/structure framework/mindset at a TLU or a UMHB or a McM, etc, that they would not have blown several thousands of dollars and would be much closer to their degree.

I hope that the ASC can continue to go in profile as a viable option in the lives of numerous Texas High School football players. :)

only if I get to be dessert chef (though I would prefer dessert queen as a title) Will we see you in Salem?  Sure hope so!!

Dessert Queen.......If I knew you better I could have fun with that!!
Why, I declare.  The cold weather has gotten to you.  I believe you need to come to Salem for the Stagg Bowl.  Corn Beef and Co.  Stone Station  and all kinds of fun.  I had to miss the trip to CNU this year.   :( :(
Brownies for Film Day--Now there's a Slogan I can live with!!!:)  Go EAGLES!

Offline, a friend of mine is laughing at how many friends that he knows who decided to go off to college to play football, drink, party and flunk out, all at the same time. :-\ :D ::)

I know it can be done, but I think that the ASC has made great strides over the last 10 years. :)

What happened to Wesley?  Obviously, they must not match up well with Whitewater.  I thought they would play a closer game.

The next 2 weeks in San Antonio's Alamodome will be great for high school football.  4A finals this weekend and 2 semifinal games.  Next week the 2 5A championships will be in the Alamodome.

My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

How does Kubiak get left off the team?

Dr. Turner,
I just got off of the McM website, and noticed that there has been a change in the athletic director's position at McMurry?  Is this a recent development?  I thought the AD for the last couple of years was doing a great job.  Can you shed any light on this?  Thanks,

??

Bill McCabe

billybaroo, I agree with you.  There can't be many safeties in the country better than Kubiak.

crufootball

great news for jerrell freeman, but where is kubiak on that list. he deserved to go out as an all-american.

another question is how does elliot barcak not get listed on any of the ASC all-conference teams and then get on the all-region first team. there must be a reason, but i don't see how the conference overlooked him completely.

Bill McCabe

Congratulations to Jerrell Freeman.  I can't wait to watch the Cru next year.  Lot of talented players coming back with some new bodies ready to step into the starting line up.

Mark Sartain named head coach at ETBU
(12/12/06) ETBU has scheduled a press conference for Wednesday, Dec. 13, at 1 p.m. to introduce Mark Sartain as the Tigers' new head football coach. Sartain comes to ETBU from Trinity Valley Community College in Athens, Texas, where he served as head coach the last four years.

Is this the coach that was metioned earlier on here about trying to run his high school offense at the college level?  I could have swore that was the guy that someone in here was talking about.

etbualum
