Bill McCabe

What was his record at Trinity Valley?

I hate it when the season is over.  The off season is the worst time of year!!!! >:(

Ralph Turner

Bill,   Our athletics programs at McMurry are just ramping up!

#9 women in the nation in basketball
Men's hoops are picked to contend for the crown.
Swimming is just getting into full season.
Baseball-- another really good year.  McMurry played 2 of the 8 teams that played in the D3 College World Series (went 3-1 against them!).
Track -- Men were #4 in the Nation; women regained the ASC Crown.  Coach Barbara Crousen has a great squad returning!
Golf -- The men won three tourneys this fall and Rode McElreath gets to try to return to the Nationals again.  Women should contend with UMHB and HSU for the title.
Tennis -- We are much better this year.

This is a great time of the year for McMurry athletics! ;)

Join us on the ASC boards for basketball and baseball.

Bill McCabe

Ralph, agreed, but those are what I watch and follow when there is no football.   :)

Congratulations to ETBU on the hiring of Mark Sartain.  Mark is a real quality guy and will fit in with the other ASC coaches very well.  I believe this will be a great hire for ETBU and that they will be a force again in the ASC real soon.  Dadgum it!!  ;)

PS;  He's got to be good.  He is an Austin College grad !!!!  ;D ;D
Anything that you ardently desire, vividly imagine, totally believe and enthusiastically pursue will inevitably come to pass !!!

End of year in a development office is crazy, and I'm sorry for coming late to these parties.  Even so...

FWIW, I heard that there were some "interesting" criteria being required by ETBU for their final candidate.  Good luck to Coach Sartain, though.  From what I've been told, he's a good coach and a quality individual.

Also, RE: Coach Mueller at TLU.  Dr. Moline, the President at TLU is retiring at the end of the academic year, and Coach Mueller probably saw this as a good time to make the break if he was going to.

Presidential transitions at colleges are just like that--lots of staff turnover.  Looks like he landed a nice position, though, and I wish him the best.

roocru, another Roo assumes a position of power.  I know you are grinning from ear to ear.

Josh, we could use all the great photographers of D3football this weekend.  Are you sure you can't come on up?  Catch a ride on Roocru's plane (I know holding on to the wing is difficult.  That is the only way I could get to Texas).  Stone Station is feeding the d3footballNation.  It's going to be a happening. :) ;) :D ;D
Brownies for Film Day--Now there's a Slogan I can live with!!!:)  Go EAGLES!

Josh Bowerman

Sorry, Olinemom.  I'll bet the brownies will be awesome, nonetheless.

My parents are coming in from West Texas for an "Early Christmas" visit this weekend, and next weekend we'll be out close to you--visiting Colonial Williamsburg with the in-laws.

If HSU had made it, I would have been there for sure!

Why didn't Mueller stay over the year so the new president could get a better feel for the program?  The next head coach is actually an "interim" who will have to please the new guy, without having been chosen by him! :-\

Is my logic off on this? ???

Bill McCabe

How many new coaches does that make for the ASC in the last 2 years, 5?

Josh Bowerman

Mueller is 60, Ralph.  He probably either A) doesn't have the desire to weather the transition, B) figures that if he's going to make a career move, this is probably the last and best chance he has for it, or C) both of the above.

Just my guess.

That makes sense, Josh.

Coach Mueller had a chance to go back to Ft Worth and took it.

It does sound like a good job! ;)

What does a head coach at one of the ASC schools make, just a guess?  40K I thought, maybe 50K, it could not be much more.  I do not know.
