Man, whatever those guys are using for a web server totally sucks.  Must be a Pentium I or something.  Nothing but 503 errors this AM.

The game stats aren't up yet; here's the game report, such as it is:

The United States scored three rushing touchdowns and Rob Rodriguez recorded two blocked punts as the American defeated Germany 33-7 on Thursday at Kawasaki Stadium in Pool 2 action of the third IFAF World Championship.

The United States also scored on a safety, a 21-yard field goal and an interception return touchdown by cornerback Diezeas Calbert in the game.

hpudad

Josh Kubiak had an interception in the game.

Germany only score came on an interception return for 90 yds.  I just went through the game stats.

Stats for the game.....they are hard to read....they were saved in a .txt, then scanned into a .pdf and there is a lot of "wrapping".

Kubiak and Rodriguez in the same backfield.....ouch!!

The game stats are finally in a readable format at:

The US will play Japan, a 48-0 victor over Sweden, in the finals.   One would think the US team would have a substantial size advantage.

Okay.  I am going to ask this question diplomatically.

If the student-athlete cannot qualify academically to matriculate at Oklahoma State, how does he get into HPU?

??? ;)
:D
I love the off-season.

FOOTBALL: Tigers announce changes, additions to coaching staff

MARSHALL, Texas (6/26/07) – With just a little over a month to go before players report for fall workouts, East Texas Baptist head football coach Mark Sartain has announced changes and new additions to his assistant coaching staff.

New coaches coming on staff include Benny Ellison, who will coach cornerbacks and coordinate special teams; Morgan Guidry, who will coach tight ends and serve as a junior varsity assistant; Cody Robinson, who will coach linebackers and assist with the JV; Tim Eason, who will coach defensive tackles and assist with the JV; and Clay Matchett, who will coach running backs and assist with the JV.

Coaches remaining from the spring semester include assistant head coach and defensive coordinator Corey Chancellor; recruiting coordinator/offensive line/strength coach Zac Bryant; receivers coach/video coordinator Will Murchison; and defensive ends/academic coordinator Brandon Easterly.

Openings on the staff were created earlier this month when former special teams coordinator and linebackers coach Andy Ankeny was named head coach at the University of La Verne, just outside Los Angeles, Calif. Ankeny had been on staff at ETBU since the program's inception in 2000 and was the last remaining member of the Tigers' original coaching staff still working at ETBU.

David Banks, last season's defensive coordinator who was moved to recruiting coordinator this past offseason on Sartain's staff, will join Ankeny's staff at La Verne.

Ellison is an alumnus of ETBU who was coaching in Haltom, Texas, prior to joining the Tigers' staff. Guidry is a graduate of the University of Tulsa and has also coached at Tulsa.

Robinson played and coached for Sartain at Trinity Valley Community College, while Eason is a graduate of Hardin-Simmons University and comes to ETBU from New Caney High School in New Caney, Texas.

Matchett, a former standout player at Louisiana College, joins the staff as running backs coach after working on staff with the NFL's Minnesota Vikings last season.

Sartain also announced that former Tigers Chase Berendzen and Tony Brown, seniors on last season's team, will serve as student assistant coaches this fall.

The Tigers report for workouts on Aug. 11, with the season opener set for Sept. 1 in Ornelas Stadium against Trinity.

Welcome back to the conference to Clay Matchett.

Clay started at McMurry and then went to LC when they resumed the LC program.
