ok back to football.......

predictions on the UMHB/CNU game?

Sender

I will leave it alone with this.  Look at Duke, where Spurrier won an ACC title, the basketball team majored in Sociology.  Who teaches it, the coaches.  North Carolina, when was the last time someone graduated from there that played basketball beside the one walk-on.

Only bob knight and he has not won in the modern era.

It is just a big business.

UMHB will the game.

My last comment.....

that's why I said Dean Smith...not the current coach. Dean Smith graduation rate was over 90%. I fI remember correctly, I think the exact figure was 94%.

when Spurrier was at Duke and won the ACC title....ACC football wasn't what it was today. also - i didn't realize the type of degree you have may not count when someone looks at graduation rates.

I like your prediction on the game......I think CNU will the game!!

I'll head back to the USA South board......I have aprediction for the UMHB/CNU game but will hold off until game day. I did write up a brief snippet on the game. I was asked for a fan's view of the CNU season.....here's part of what I wrote...

"There will be no southern hospitality in Benton, Texas as the Crusaders look to avenge their loss at CNU last year. UMHB has had this game circled on their schedule since they boarded the plane in Newport News last September."

I'll post the rest after the story has hit print and I'll post my predicted score on game day (if I remember....Sept 8 is too many beers from now to promise I will remember!!)

Except CNU is coming to BELTON, not Benton, which is somewhere is the hills of Arkansas, right? ;)

"The taxpayers who foot the bill for the state institutions are entitled to a better product being produced out of the athletic programs than what they are getting right now."  headlinesman.
If they let Mack Brown , Spurrier and bigtime coaches run there program , taxpayers will get a winner and not cost them a penny.  Bowl games and TV .  Look at Young, I promise he did not score a 25 on his ACTs

He has not drug the program through the mud no more than Texas or anywhere else.  Texas suspended two players yesterday.

OK, Sender, you are right.  Please forgive me for expressing an honest opinion - I should have known better.  Since we don't know each other, I should just accept your opinion as gospel and remain in my little office and mind my own business.  I just don't know what got into me, and what I was thinking!

Hell, if you berate me enough, I might just come around to your way of thinking.

Well, you cannot have it both ways.  A big time coach and a high level of academics.

USC also has high academics and a successful athletic program.

I have a question for the dIII guru's out there!!!  Would you consider the HSU with the preseason toughest schedule?  and i say preseason because sometime your opponets dont live up to the preseason hype.  But looking at it today would you consider them to have the toughest schedule?

Just curious and trying to get off the topic we beat to death every season!!! :)
