All three qb's went at least one series with the number one offense.  Each QB was able to move the ball and each QB led the offense to score.  It was the substiuting of the second and third teams that caused EACH QB to appear as tho they had lost thier touch.  A lot of the second and third team o-line, receivers and backs did not perform as well as the first team. All 3 qbs did a fair job of moving the ball giving the talent they were given to help execute the plays.  A lot of passes were not caught because recievers did not run the proper routes, stopped running their routes or just plain didnt get to where they should have been.  It seems this is always a reflection on the QB.   All Qb's had at least 1 sack due to the inexperience of the 2nd and 3rd o-line.  Again, this was just a scrimmage.  I am confident that when conference starts everything will be in place.

Now here is a comment that sounds like it is coming from the parent of a QB. From what I was told after film was watched was that many receivers were open down field and the qb's other than Jordy just didnt get the ball to them. That is very normal for a early season scrimmage. If the case is true about the receivers not completing routes that should be scary for this team. The QB problem will straighten itself out. I tend to believe its a QB problem that will clear itself up.

Here's hoping all those HSU problems get worked out the week of September 17th.    ;D

I agree with Proud (dad) McMurry will be a surpise to people.  Wish I could be there to see how it all begins.  Good luck McM (TRIBE).  I will be listening to the game.

Coach Gray we believe...show us what McM football is all about.

Dr. Turner have a safe trip, will see you at homecoming. Will make the trip to UMHB and TLU also.

A 4.28 40 at the DIII level?  You've got to be kidding me.  What's the story behind this kid?

4.28 speed and no track team on which to compete.... :-\

And isn't that 6'7" Patrick Oliver the former basketball player?

Let's set up a match race between he and Larry Beavers if UMHB and Wesley meet in the playoffs again this year.

The current player with the fastest "official" time in the conference is McMurry sprinter and Wide Receiver Bert Green, who was a member of the 2006 McMurry 4x100 M relay team that finished 2nd in Division III.

put some pads on the guy and have some football players chasing him and his 4.28 speed dont really mean a hill of beans unless he can get to the open field.

HSU had a guy that could run a sub 4.3 40 yrd dash and rarely saw the game field.  Im not saying this guy isnt going to play.  But when practicing against my former teammate when he was on the practice squad and the only time his speed was effective was in the open field and he didnt get there much.  Maybe this guy is different, but 40 times, as a former player, are way overrated.  Its all about the pursuit angles.
