Hey Wildcats!!!

Thanks for the information about McMinnville, which is a long way from Washington, DC...but, I'll be listening!

Go Cowboys---true Purple, true Gold!
(And I agree with all that has been said about 0-2 vs 1-1) ;D

There was a list posted by YESSIR of guys who were considered great players in the ASC.

I can tell you everyone of these guys, (that I know personally or have met on a couple of occassions), had some significant reason to be in D3. Even if these guys originally went to bigger schools first, there was a physical reason why they came down to D3, and had a better chance to play.

It has been a long two weeks for the Cowboys.  I will be interested to see if they come out fired up and ready to play.  Two weeks to have that nasty taste in your mouth after losing a home opener.  Should be fun up in McMinnville on Saturday.

I don't know how fast Quincy Daniels runs the 40, but I do know he is football fast.  Since I've been watching the Cru, they really haven't had the great breakaway threat.  It appears Daniels brings that to the offense.  This should make the offense particularly tough to stop.  Most of the backs I've seen at UMHB have been strong, quick runners.

Not to mention he is one of three really nice backs running for the Cru this year. Jarvis Thrasher, 1st Team All-Conference, All-region, last year. and last but not least Chris "Cutty" Owen. The three of them, teamed with the Senior anchored O-line, and some talented full backs, should put up some impressive rushing stats this year.

The year they went to the Stagg Bowl the Cru had 3 talented running backs.  It always amazed me that AC only played in the 4th quarter.  He made the run of the game against Mt. Union.  I doubt if any of those backs were as fast as Daniels.

yessir

Yeah, definately a triple threat that year. Should have similar results this year. I'm interested to see the CRU offense hitting on all cylinders. I know saturday the whole 2nd team O-line was subbed in during the 2nd Quarter and didn't miss a beat. The recievers look good, and I think we've only seen a glimpse of the no huddle. that could be a significant weapon. It's gonna be a fun year.

yessir, I agree.  It will be the defense that takes them deep into the playoffs.  I'm anxious to see how they do against Sul Ross.

I think the Defense is beyond stacked. When you have 2 interior LB's that can cover most recievers in the Conference, as well as knock someones head off in the trenches. A team speed that can compare to alot of upper tier college teams.  All that speed is going to definately give them the Edge in special teams. Which we already got a glimpse of Saturday with the great returns by Parker, as well ass other great plays on Special teams. This just might be the year the Cru goes back to Salem.  The definately have the potential. Gotta take each week one at a time though. Any comments on the Lobo's. How long has it been since they went 2-0 to start the season? Seems like they should have a great year as well.

"Yeah know,.......Marvin was a Lobo......., I coached the Lobo's. They are a tough squad....." LOL Good ole Coach George pregame speech. Gotta love those.....LOL

WOW SRSU vs. TLU
SRSU had 604 yards of Offense, and only gave up 198. Thats some pretty impressive numbers, both on Offense and Defense. Most of TLU's yard where on the ground. Which is a +for UMHB. Most of SRSU offense was through the air....should a challenge for the UMHB secondary.

26 First Downs, shows that they can move the ball consistantly.
They had 3 turnovers, take them out of the picture and it could of been alot worse for TLU. Which im sure TLU had alot to do with the fumbles.
Throw the ball almost 40 times, and only have one INT. Pretty good stat.

Sounds like SRSU is pretty good, or TLU is struggling.

Against SWAG, they once again held their opponent to less than 200 yards of offense.

Might be a good game this weekend!!  SRSU has always been pretty scrappy. They play physical. Should be a great game.

They started the season last year 4-0 to answer your question.

They lost to UMHB 45-2 in the second week, so they didn't go 4-0.

I know in previous years, they've been blown out when in Belton.  It's a little tougher playin in Alpine. I dont see them keeping it close for long but, I don't see it being 62-0 either. Should be an intersting game for atleast a quarter or 2.

UMHB's speed on defense creates a lot of problems for the other teams offense.  If Sul Ross can handle UMHB's speed, it might stay close.  Sul Ross will have to win the turnover battle and not give UMHB a short field.  I think the Cru are loaded this year and it will be a tough task in Belton for Sul Ross.
