I'm disappointed in the way HSU is playing so far this season.  Unfortunately, you are not always going to be the best!!!

On Saturday, I am going to go see them play LC......let's hope things are better this week!!!

Mississippi College wide receiver Jake Allen has been invited to this year's Aztec Bowl. First player we have had in several years earn an invitation.

Pat Coleman

This is an actual invite? Not just that he's under consideration?

I'm sure that they wait a little longer than Week 3 to issue invitations, that's all.

Also, this just in:

Every player on UMHB's roster has been invited to this year's Aztec Bowl. No player from HSU will be invited this season or any other.

A packed student section behind an end zone cheering on guys they will actually see in class on Monday is almost as cool as The Streak.

Foss, ouch! You're stepping on our toes. ;)

Living a little vicariously there Josh.  +k for someone who says what you want to!  ;)  I won't hold that against you for our bet!!   ;D ;D

You may wish to e-mail the writer about this: chris.allman@d3football.com

I think he may read the board, but he's not registered for it, so he may not. If you have objections, please pass them along.

Please email Chris with your objections.  His ignorance can't be ignored.  If he is going to bash HSU for losing to two top 15 teams and still being in the top 25 at least he can get his facts straight.  HSU did not play Oshkosh nor did Clint Bricker start the game.  D3 athletes do not receive much support from media other than this website, his negative remarks and biased opinions are not needed.....especially on this website. Maybe we should start looking for a new columnist.  Chris's professionalism should exceed his biased opinions.  THIS KIND OF ARTICLE IS NOT NEEDED!!!  Keith I appreciate your Around the Nation article!!!! ;D  It is always fun to read and very informative.  We need more people like you and Pat in the D3 world.  The Cowboys are working out their problems, just like every other team.  Being this is my first post, I don't want to come off as being mean or rude, I just feel like something needs to be said and done. There is no excuse for ignorance!  Foss props on the post....funny!

Okay, Chris' column was a little partisan.  He has already paid homage to Ron Boerger.

At least, it wasn't a Leave Coach Keeling Alone rant.

(Click for the Leave Coach Fran Alone you tube video)

:D :D :D :D :D

ROTFLMAO

:D

(That is one of most creative works of satire that I have ever seen.)

awesome video Ralph hahha  ;D . A&M is doing terrible right now 31-10!  What kinda of homage has he "paid" to Ron?

He acknowledged that Ron wrote great columns when he was the South Region columnist.  ;)

Not an invitation, he was definitely selected. We received the letter Wednesday congratulating him on his selection as one of 50 players representing the country.  The first paragraph of the release is pretty much word for word from his selection letter.

Jake is certainly deserving, he's a good guy and great athlete. It is my understanding that scouts have graded him highly as a potential late-round draft possibility next year. He is a shade under 6'4" (185 lbs) and ran a 4.51 handheld for scouts in the spring. I know he is being considered for a couple other larger All Star games such as the East-West Shrine Game.

Pat Coleman

I'm sure he's deserving, too -- just makes me wonder about the Aztec Bowl process that they're picking kids after three games. Hopefully it's just a couple of kids that get invites in September.

I know what you meant, I was a little surprised to get the letter that early as well.
