UMHB 2 deep is in temple telegram every game day and also in game program--I am not smart enough to get that to you but let me know--I think I can tell you most anyway.

My last comment on the running up the score debate.  I do think it is running up the score to keep your best in the game when the game is clearly decided and out of hand, even though that may not get your first team enough work for the future.

It is not fair--as long as all get to play, and I believe all or nearly all UMHB players have played in every game to date--to tell them not to play hard or run the offense.  I know for a fact on Saturday 3 QB's, 4 TB's, and at least 4 FB's and 8-10 receivers played. As someone who did play sports once upon a time, I would be much more embarrassed  when I was on the short end to see the other team take a knee, punt on first down, etc. than have my opponent play all its players and let them play.

Onside kicks while down 50 offended my sense of fair play more than a pass by a substitute to a substitute against 1st teamers in the 3rd quarter.

Josh, if you open this http://www.umhb.edu/athletics/news/6669, there is a copy of the two-deep at least for the McMurry game towards the end of the game notes. They will release one for the HSU game probably by tomorrow or Wednesday, once again towards the end of the game notes for that game.

Thanks for the link, crufootball.  I appreciate it very much.

My outake of the McM-UMHB game.  I fist would like to say that I saw the effort and the improvement with the McM team. The attacking offense and defense was enjoyable to see I know that the score does not look like it but you are moving in the right direction.  I was only able to stay for the first 3 quarters of the game, but late in the third quarter when the game was out of reach for, McM 51-3, UMHB was still throwing the ball on first and second down.  And I do not mean little drop off's and screens.  I mean 20 yrd throws.  I know you have to still play and I agree on that.  But when you are known for running the option down people's throat, that is what you should do.  Running the option pass on 1st down, I do not see the reason.  I agree with the critics when they say UMHB is #2 in the nation.  They played like it, just wish that they would have not pass so much when the game was out of hand.  I understand that you have to let your backups have reps, but sometimes that is a little much.  Good luck to UMHB for the rest of the season, I look forward to having good representation in the playoffs this year.

McM keep playing, I look forward to Homecoming.  Dr. Turner I will see you there, dad will not be there something came up with the family.  But my family and I will be there.  Look forward to another great homecoming.

Ralph,

Honestly, it must not be that good.  I have not seen them play, I know McM won the game.  McM ever think about moving over to that conference.   I would like to see that.  They are not going to beat UMHB anytime soon, I mean they are not making any progress to win the conference.  They will go from 2-5 wins.    I would like to see them win in that conference, they could compete.

Gray is not a bad guy, a good guy actually.  It is not all his fault, UMHB is on another playing field.

Bill has said this time and time again, they have the prime time location for getting kids.

Truthfully, it is not on the same playing field.

I missed out on the posting when it was brought up about the radio crews.  Dallas Huston has been the voice of HPU football since 1964.  He's won more than his fair share of awards.  I don't think you'll find too many that have been around as long as he has and that has done as good a job as he has.

Toby Taff

so, who here will be @ hsu this weekend?
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

When is all the talk about UMHB-HSU going to start?  I miss the passion.  :D :D

Hey, all you UMHB fans can forget about Saturday's game, since HSU has already won -- at the same score with which they beat MC.  Check out the HSU football schedule page at http://hsuathletics.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/sched/hsim-m-footbl-sched.html

Ralph,
McM ever think about moving over to that conference.   I would like to see that.

McMurry would not likely be invited considering that the last three invitees were Colorado College ($400M endowment -- more endowment than HSU, MCM, UMHB, HPU, and ETBU put together), Birimingham-Southern (which moved up from D-1 non-football) and Austin College who has to be the happiest kid in town at Christmas.  Just think of the travel costs to play games in Danville KY, Greencastle IN and Atlanta GA

They are not going to beat UMHB anytime soon, I mean they are not making any progress to win the conference.  They will go from 2-5 wins.    I would like to see them win in that conference, they could compete.

But the same can be said for at least 4-6 other schools, and HSU has not won a D3 playoff game in the 21st Century.  Ouch

Truthfully, it is not on the same playing field.

Which makes me wonder...UMHB's size, growth and building plans for the next 10 years are more aligned with Abilene Christian or some D-2.  Would UMHB accept the invitation to move to the Lone Star Conference?
Thanks for the response to the comments in italics above.

Maybe Coach Fred will remember this little favor the next time he needs his substitute QB to pass a long route on 3rd and 10 ahead by 48 points!

:D :D :D

Well, I am either lucky to catch or prescient of the game that is to be.

Bill McCabe

HSU wins if they score 45 against UMHB!  :)

Bill McCabe

prescient of the game...  Help me Ralph, I don't know what that means.   :( :D
