Not sure if this was on the show but here is Jim Rome talking to Mike Flynt

Great interview!

Imagine the impact that he is having on his teammates!

I ditto all the comments about Feaster's scrambling and making plays. What else was impressive was to see those young receivers continue to work down field. There is a bright future for the HSU offense.

Can anyone explain to me or point me with details about playoff brackets. I was told that the No one and two ranked teams are automatically seeded in opposite brackets??

HSU needs to improve its speed on defense.  That has been where they have not matched up well with UMHB.  Offensively, they have always been a threat.

Pretty much, though the NCAA may not always agree with everyone else's rankings. And if the 1 and 2 teams are int he same region don't expect the NCAA to move them apart.

Totally agree and i assume recruiting efforts will reflect that.

ETBU looked pretty bad in the first half against McMurry.  How they managed to come back and win in overtime is beyond me.  Their team speed, on both sides of the ball, is way down from previous years.

If the HSU kids play for a full 60 minutes, I think they win by three-four touchdowns easily.  If they lay down and quit the way they did in the second half against UMHB, then it could be close--especially since it's on the road.

After scratching my head and asking the forum here why the ASC Standings are listed in the order they are on the D3 board, I've come to the conclusion that , unlike all the other conferences, our ASC is listed by the Massey Ratings system of strength of schedule. What a unique idea! I wonder why the other conferences haven't caught on?

Bill McCabe

Josh, what if HSU were to beat ETBU and ETBU would beat UMHB?  We've been down that road before.   ;)  Or MC beats UMHB and HSU wins out, as does UMHB and MC.  Could 2 teams get in the playoffs?

I was told by PrestoSports that it was being sorted by division or division record even though the ASC doesn't do divisions for football. I was also told it was fixable.

Bill, we both know that isn't going to happen.  Even if it did, HSU is now standing minus 30 in the head-to-head point differential running.

I should also say I don't know if the ASC still uses this method to break three-way ties.

I'd think the only way the ASC gets two teams in this year is if MC manages to beat the Crusaders and then both teams win out.  MC would win the conference and be in contention for a home game by virtue of their win over Millsaps and UMHB, and UMHB would likely get a Pool C and might host, depending on what happens with the remainder of Whitewater's and CNU's seasons.

Josh Bowerman,
I think in case of a 3 way tie, the rules since after 2003, are now a lottery to see who gets the AQ. So, if someone other than UMHB were to get the AQ, then Umhb would likely get an at large, especially iwht the south being so weak this year. Unless they moved someone else into the region to fill the bracket. The south seems real weak this year.
