Sorry for addressing his (TL g.o.a.t.) rediculous and disrespectful comments Lord Bowerman. I will now move on.......;)

Nothing i said was rediculous nor disrespectful.....You just happen to take it that way. I stated MY opinion, and MY take on things. You just did not like it....

An opinion, in which you failed to state one concrete fact to support. Saying that a 8-1 UMHB will be "Knocked off the hill" by a team that will finish this season 2-8, is rediculous, no matter how you put it. Not to mention UMHB beat TLU 48-0 in Matador Stadium at 1:00 pm this year ( I know how hot Matador Stadium can be at 1:00 pm). Unless you are Tom Brady or Adrian Peterson, I don't see TLU playing on UMHB's level anytime soon. Actually, if I was you, I would transfer to UMHB in the spring and ride the bench next season, atleast you'll get a ring........
Walking on thin ice cuz someone lost......again.

just having a little fun, but that's a big promise for a team ranked 4th in its region and who lost to their toughest competition this season.   ;)  Unless it's an ASC ring

I'm pretty sure he meant an ASC ring.  They may not be Stagg rings, but 5 ASC rings in the last 6 years (one of those is a tri-championship, not outright... before someone points that out) still look real nice and shiny.  Maybe we'll get two this year.  :)

Sorry it has been so long, I am just getting caught up on the patterns after having just finished our high school football season last night.

I actually have a complaint on a few of our UMHB fans this time.  As a coach, some of the comments made struck a little nerve.

Comments of the ETBU game in which UMHB won 72-7 but was "unimpressive" and
"same ol, same ol" are typical fan behavior.  (not sure if the latter was derogatory or not).

This always happens as teams become successful.

First, fans are just happy to see their team win, every thing is hunky dory and "we" (players, coaches and fans) are all having a good time.  Then something happens...

The team is still winning but all of the sudden the fans start to complain that they are winning by 30pts instead of 50pts, or 40pts instead of 60pts.  They also complain about "the way" their team is winning.  Their team won by a huge margin but only threw 8 passes...  or, we didn't give little johnnie the ball enough..., or we ran the same play on over and over...

WHO CARES!!!  Your team won!!!  If they ran the same play over and over, and it worked, then that was probably a good play call.  Why call something different if the defense is lining up and giving you the play? If your team gets up on somebody, then you start working on the pass and chunking the ball, now you are running up the score and we have all had this discussion many times.

I understand you are looking into the future for the well-being of the team, but the good thing is... you don't have to!  Fans will always question coaches' decisions and that will never stop, but let the coaches call the plays. They spend an inordinate amout of time every week doing just that.  They know their teams strengths and weaknesses, they know their opponents strengths and weaknesses, and they know what they are doing.  And when your team wins 72-7, don't complain about it.

If you are going to be a running offense like UMHB, then you have to practice the run and do it in the game.  The time it takes to practice throwing the ball takes away from the time it takes practicing the run.  Do what you are good at.  That same offense (despite the no huddle) is the offense that got us to the Stagg.

Sorry for the rant, but sometimes those kind of comments can get under a coaches skin.
YOU KNOW IT!!!!

First of all...lol at me riding ANYBODY'S bench....never rode one in my life....and i guarantee you that i would not ride a bench at ANY ASC school, or ANY D3 school for that matter.......You have no idea the caliber of athlete you are chatting with buddy. Not Adrian Peterson, Not Tom Brady, but definitely a program changing player....Especially in a D3 conference where Jarvis Thrasher is the no.1 tailback ::)   Jarvis Thrasher got cut from his Junior College team after his freshman year.....A junior college team that was 2-8,and didnt return not 1 running back.

TLU GOAT, if you are the type of player you say you are why are you going to TLU? There are plently of schools in Texas that would be willing to pay a player to come to their school if you are that good.

maroonpride4

ANYONE INTERESTED IN THE MCM AND HSU GAME SAT? I THINK IT IS THE YEAR OF THE INDIAN...WELL, OF THE ATHLETICS.

That's just TLU G.O.A.T's opinion.  Nobody has to agree with it!

TLU goat--

What high school did you go to?  Was it in Texas?  What position do you play?  I've got many back issues of Texas High School football and I want to look you up.  Also, make sure you let me know what number when you get it so I can make sure to see this "program changing player".
YOU KNOW IT!!!!

Well, I'm not saying that I'm not happy about the wins, but when we are winning 70-7 or whatever, or even 24-0, lets try and do some different things.  If we have to, we can go back to the run, but let's try to throw to our wide receivers over the middle, something different.  We stayed with the run too long against UWW and look where that got us.  I'm not complaining about the wins, I just wish we could be a little more ballanced.
