Looking forward to seeing UMHB this weekend for the first time since the Stagg Bowl.  It's a rare treat to see the Cru since I don't get down to Texas very often.

Any one care to offer a short (or long) scouting report?

Thanks!

Maybe third time for a Texas team to go to the Stagg will be charmed!  :)

Im with you there pg04.  The thing that really good teams do is get a lot better throughout the year while other teams peak around week 5-7.  Im sure Wesley is a team that has continued to improve throughout the regular and postseason.

Hey Cru 39,
Load up the pops and head North for a couple of those drinks we owe him after last years Stagg Bowl! I don't believe there will be any Whitewater women at this game so we should be safe in keeping the owed number at about a case!  :o I've got tickets lined up again for you guys if you do join us on the 15th of December, and of course about 12 hrs of tailgating with a little Nat'l Championship game sandwiched in between.  ;)

Wow, llamaguy, I know a few Whitewater women that would kick your a$$ for a comment like that!  :)   :D ;D  But I won't tell anyone you said that just in case there are any UWW gals at Stone Station this year!

wesleydad--

I think the major difference in UMHB's running game this year is the fact that they are able to rotate two entire offensive lines.  I don't care who the defense is, come late second quarter, early fourth quarter, that will begin to wear you down.  They also have Daniels who they did not have last year.  He adds a speedy compliment to the power of Thrasher.  And Owen, the 3rd string RB/SL can definitely pick up the slack when he is in the game.  I think he starts at any other school in the ASC.

Thanks, olinemom, but I will watch it here in Dallas.

Now if McMurry men make it to Salem for Hoops, yes, I would try my hardest to go!  :)

It is very very early in the season but wanted to congratulate the UMHB men's basketball team for being listed in the Top 10 on D3hoops.com for the first time in school history. UMHB is the only school to be in the Top 10 for both men's basketball and football

The weather in Belton, jaypeter, was miserable-- especially for Texas--40  degrees or so, some wind, totally gray day with drizzle to hard rain all 3 hours--really ugly!

Wesleydad, I have seen all 12 UMHB games this year and both prior Wesley games with UMHB.  Will UMHB finally break into the win column against you guys?  I certainly don't know, but crualum39 certainly has at least part of the answer to our cautious optimism.  2 full o lines play all the time and wear at least most teams out. I would have liked to have seen us at least try that more at UWW, even when we fell behind.  There is no doubt the tailbacks as a group are superior to even our 2004 Stagg Bowl team, IMHO.  I  also know one guy who is now on the second o line started in Dover last year because of injury I believe.  I cannot totally quantify why,  but everyone is back--plus new guys--and the  holes being opened this year (and the results) compared to 2005 and 2006 are much  more impressive.  Every year has its own chemistry and personality, and I like our chances, even in Dover. Although I fully understand the quality of opponent has a lot to do with it, I have not felt UMHB has played its best crisp game either year against the Wolverines. Regardless of the outcome, I hope we bring our A+ game Saturday--we will need it to win!
