Bobo, I hear we will be able to see the game over the internet.  I'm sure that will be a lot warmer than the weather there.  ;)

Ralph, I'll bet it was more than my alma mater draws for their games.   ;D

I don't know the attendance, but when listening to the radio every play had a crowd reaction as loud as nay I've heard.  Sounded like the crowds on ESPN's gameday.

congrats to the CRU!  Fine job and what a way to make a statement.  Now for next week....it is hard to beat the same team twice in the same year....so let's prove that right!  Next week belongs to our DEFENSE!  Go CRU!

GO OU beat MIZZOU!

I am in Dover right now and enjoyed reading everyone's comments on the ASC in game board. WHAT A GREAT TEAM WIN!! Make no mistake, Wesley is an outstanding team,  but UMHB brought its A game finally against Wesley.  All the Wesley turnovers certainly helped but IMHO the better team certainly won today, and we forced a few of thosemistakes.  I know there were a lot of yards given up to Wesley but our defense was top notch today. Wesley has a lot of great weapons especially Beavers and Clarke but we kept them under control today. Even the TD to Clarke in the second quarter that was called back was actually an underthrown ball into the wind on which we had pretty good coverage that he came back to get and then made some nice cuts after that.

I will tell you the unsung player of the game was our punter and kicker Joel Munoz.  Two clutch field goals, 3 PAT's, great kickoffs to keep it away from Beavers (I think he only got to return one), GREAT  punting and several slick moves on difficult snaps on punts, ESPECIALLY one in the first quarter on about our 10 yard line where he had to pick up the snap off the ground, dodge a rusher and get it off.  He was great today, and an early disaster could have changed momentum.

The 80+ run by Jarvis Thrasher early in the third was also huge.  Some of the arrogance you read by the UWW people (at least some of them) get a little tiresome, but if UMHB bring the focus and intensity next week they did today UWW may be surprised!  I do not think the weather is an issue at all for this team. Maybe it bothered Wesley in other years but I don't see it for UMHB.  Two weeks of travel worries me a little more, but I hope the revenge factor will push us past that.  After all, revenge is a dish best served cold, or something like that.

We did suffer some tough injuries though. I know our starting center, senior Tyler Hykel,  went out early with what looked like a knee and did not return.  Also, senior DB Elliot Barcak also went out twice again with his knee I think.  We do have outstanding depth, however. ON TO WISCONSIN!  I hope everyone at Whitewater is as confident or overconfident as some posters on here seem to be.

Rick
Let me also remind the readers that UMHB LIKES to play on the road....during their run in 2004, they played EVERY game on the road...hence the nickname--Road Dogs!  The place and the weather does not bother our CRU.....if they bring their A team and play like they are capable...we are on to Salem VA!  I, too, hope the UWW posters are over confident and hope they stay that way.....surprises are coming their way.  AH...there is nothing like Football in December!

GO CRU

wesleydad

rick, you were at the game and came away with that conclusion.  the total yards were dead even and wesley had 5 turnovers.  all but one of the turnovers occured after wesley had gained at least 5 yards, none of which was caused by what you would call a big hit.  you will be one of very few people who think the better team won today.  the td that was called back by clark was slightly underthrown caused by the wind, clark adjusted, your dback did not and he outran everyone to the endzone.  word from the field is that the officiating crew admitted to making a mistake on the call which is a shame since that would have tied the game at 10 before the half.  congratulations on the win, but please be realistic in how it happened, more caused by wesley mistakes than the cru's play.  you can not have it both ways, if you lost to uww because of the turnovers, than you won today because wesley commited 5 turnovers.  if that is as you say umhb's A game, than you are in for a long day next week against uww.  no excuses, wesley lost, but dont overblow your teams effort or chances against uww.

What a great game for the Crusaders, it was definetly worth the second trip up to Dover. Rick, I will join you as one of the people who believes the better team won today.
Wesley might have had 5 turnovers, but the Cru only got 7 points off of those turnovers.  Either way Wesley was a good team and I am glad we have them behind us. Now its time for another trip to Wisconsin where hopefully we can make the third times a charm moto work again.

wc has a great team and a proven program. but most football games are won because one team makes less mistakes, turn overs and/or missed opportunities, just better execution. the cru won, lets give the whinny up north dad the 7 pts, they still lose. we loss the last 2 years to them, we won this year, and yes, we were the better team today.

I, too, hope the UWW posters are over confident and hope they stay that way.....surprises are coming their way.

The fans won't be playing in or be involved in any part of the coaches game planning for this game, so a few zealous fans shouldn't have any bearing in the outcome of this game IMO. However, most of the WW posters recognize that the Crusaders are a dangerous team and present unique challenges, even to a complete package like the Warhawks. There are a few here who like the banter, just like there are a few on your side, too.  Without that, all this would be unnecessary. WW is playing extremely well right now, probably better than they were during the first meeting. I'm sure they will have a few surprises waiting for the Cru, too.  Both teams will be well prepared, knowing what awaits the winner in Salem.  The Warhawks have an strong coaching staff and will have their troops ready for anything UMHB throws (maybe that is the wrong word to use) at them.  Ditto for the Crusaders. How many fans do you think will travel to the frozen tundra for the game? Dress warmly...

Congrats to MHB please come to WW and we hope that that it is a good game, because all these blowouts are leaving me restless.  We need a classic, a OU vs. Boise, a slug fest.

Welcome, UWW fans.

I am not a UMHB alum.  In fact, when I was growing up, it was a "girls" school.  :)

The UMHB fans have been very restrained this post-season.  They got very quiet with the Wesley game.

Any UMHB fan that starts making noise will likely be called out this week.

I have a theory about post-season play.  There are three outcomes.

The game is very tight, e.g., UWW-UMHB 2006

The game is an early breakaway among two very good teams, UWW-UMHB 2007

The game is a mismatch, e.g., almost any game vs. MUC.

I doubt that one team will win the game.  Rather, I think that the victor will not have lost the game.

For me the keys for UMHB win are these:

1)  to play mistake-free football.
2)  for Josh Welch to play within himself and to use all of the talent that he has supporting him.
3)  for UMHB to win the line of scrimmage by the fourth quarter.
4)  for the UMHB secondary not to be burned early in the game.

Plusses for UMHB include:

--the kicking game.  Munoz can change the nature of the game with his punts and kicks.  He should get a try-out in some pro camps.
--respect for UWW, and a desire not to play as they did in October.
--being on the road, again.  They have gotten back into the "road warrior" mode.  I think that they play better on the raod than at home.
