Does anyone think that we will see a player from UMHB get an NFL combine invitation? Could Freeman, Munoz, or Oliver get that chance?

What about any other team in the ASC?

CruAlum39

I think the Nat'l Championship game was the week before the Stagg.

UMHB could have methodically moved the ball on MUC.  MHB's defense is faster than UWW (did not say better, just diffefent), but I don't think it matters because of UMHB's running game.  The MUC offense would have been on the field less that Whitewater allowed them to be.

Just an opinion... not a biased one, but one of an objective as possible football coach...

#1  UWW
#2  UMHB
#3  MUC
YOU KNOW IT!!!!

I could see Jake Allen getting a look.  He has the size that they look for.

I expect a few try-outs for McM's Bert Green as a punter.

Look, I personally feelt that UMHB had a great chance of beating MUC, but it is hard to say.  I feel that until we get a more balanced offense, it is going to be tough to get past two deminsional teams.  I'm not hatin on what we do best, just looking for a way to be better.

+1 umhb2001!

UMHB's getting to the next level in this part of the country may require a "Brett Elliott" to return to Central Texas from some D-1AA to play some football.

What QB that has excellent passing abilities wants to go someplace that throws 12 times per game at most?  Well, maybe only 6 times per game until he is "subbed" because he is leading 42-7.

Who are UMHB's non-conference foes in 2008?

umhb2001

Any QB that has any throwing prowess should say to themselves, "Hey, I can throw the heck out of the ball and this team needs someone like me.  They need someone who can do the run, but who can also chuck the pig, too."  They should also think, "man, do I want to play against THAT D?  Do I want a shot at a championship?  A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP??"  That is the QB that should be looking at UMHB.  From what I have read, we may have that in a kid from Cuero.  We'll see.  I hear it will be a battle.

Also, I have heard that a possible NON-C apponent next year could be Southern Nazaren, and NAIA out of Oklahoma.

I would love for the Warhawks to have anothe home and home schedule with UMHB. I think both teams benifited from it

Southern Nazarene has played HPU in the last two years.

agreed.  +1
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

umhb2001

I definately agree as well!  I think that one of the problems that UMHB faced this year was the fact that they steamrolled everyone.  Then we faced UWW and they, obviously, were a really great team.  I don't feel that we were entirely prepared.  I think that is why we played as well as we did in the semi's.  If we had played a DIV 2 school, or some other highly ranked team, then we woul have been more prepared.  CN and Wesley were not what they have been and so we weren't up to the caliber needed to win that game.  I hope that we can take this expierience and run with it, and hopefully pass a little, next year.

Excuse me?

I've been pretty good this year, but I cannot and will not let this pass.  Are you trying to suggest that UMHB is so great that they have to play D2 competition just to season up?

This is simply ridiculous.  And stupid.  On many levels.

Does this mean I win or are you thinking it doesn't count because the season is over?   ;D ;D ;D

The season was over last weekend, roocru.  And I like my steaks medium... :)

Merry Christmas to you and Mrs. Roocru, by the way.

Why does that have to be stupid and ridiculous?  I'm just saying that I don't think that we were prepared for our first meeting against Whitewater, that that game helped us against Wesley, and subsiquently aided our strong play against WW again in the playoffs.  To say that close games don't help you, and that tough opponents don't help you before entering conference play and playoffs is stupid.  Look App. St.  They played an amazing game against Michigan and went on to win the national championship.  Did this game help them to get ready for a division they weren't picked to win, yes.  Did our D help WW prepare for MU?  Yes.  You can't say that we really had a contest until our game agaisnt WW, so playing games that prepare us for tougher teams is a good idea, not a stupid one.
