Jake Allen signed a free agent contract with the Packers last night. He had offers from multiple NFL teams.

HUGE props going out to Freeman!  This a huge step for the program.  With so many challenges going towards DIII players, I know Jerrell will use that as motivation!  Good luck Jerrell and bring the CRU bravely, strongly, and with great character to the NFL!  I know you will!
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

Bill McCabe

Congratulations and good luck to Jerrell Freeman.  He was a pleasure to watch at UMHB and I hope he makes the Titans.

crufootball

Congrats to Jerrell Freeman as well as the numerous other players from D3 who got invitation to camps or signed deals.

Ron Boerger

With the success UMHB has had it's hard to believe that Freeman is the first Cru player to get a shot at the NFL.  Best of luck to him as well as Jake Allen.  D3 south represent!!  ;)

I thought I read something on the front page late last night about the Colts signing Gargon but I can't find it now. I'll keep an eye out for the front page news regarding everyone that signed as a free agent or were drafted.

Refreshed the home page and found it again.

Congrats to all of the D III players who were drafted, signed as a free agent, or invited for mini-camp. I'm pulling for all of you to do well!

Who is going to replace Freeman at UMHB?  Those will be big shoes to fill.

crufootball

I don't know if many people could replace Freeman, but his backup Jeremy Salinas who will be a junior next year did have 51 tackles last year so he does have a lot of playing time under his belt. Also Eric Henry will get even better next year and he was second on the team in tackles so while its very hard to replace a great linebacker like Jerrell we do have a few who are going to try.

Here is a blast from the past for Texas football...

Schreiner Institute

Chena Gilstrap, Raymond Berry, and several more.

However, the attribution of the Aggies' 12th Man tradition to Heinie Weir is definitely incorrect.
