Or the lack of having another bump to your regional winning percentage in place of that NAIA game, which is how it affects the primary criteria.

True enough...so for UMHB it could either win the ASC or stay home this year.

gordonmann

Incidentally we have the full UMHB schedule posted now.

Pat Coleman

We are at the point where we have about 96% of the schedules posted, so surf around for anything you've missed.

Meanwhile, seriously, already working on hoops schedules.

I love what I am seeing football talk in May. Can we just skip the summer and get to football season, I don't enjoy the 100+ degree days anyway?

Also just to start some more conversation, who is going to start the year in the Top 5?

Only 113 days 8 hours and 15  minutes till kickoff. GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CRU

Excellent...

Maybe he will also coach track!

Bert is defending his 4 x 100 M title this weekend.

With how the coaching staff is set up right now I think that is a good possibility that he will be coaching track.

Ouch!  It is a good thing that HSU is adding Track and Field.

That will give HSU, Mississippi College, McMurry, SRSU and UT-Tyler for the men.

Add Texas Lutheran for the women.

Fortunately, we have the requisite four members to remain an official conference sport.

Oh, what about the 12 mimimum required sports for D-III schools with 1000 students that is coming up in Fall 2012?  I only count 10 without T&F.

VB/FB; Soccer;  Hoops;  SB/BB; Tennis

12 sport requirement

Better yet, maybe TJ Felts and Amber Clark will transfer to McMurry!

Only about half of the membership said it is comfortable with the sponsorship requirement of 12 sports (six men's and six women's sports) that goes into effect in 2012. Preferring more or fewer sports doesn't mean that schools won't or can't live with the 12-sports requirement, but it still is significant that a quarter of the membership indicated it would prefer sponsoring either the current 10 required sports or fewer, while another quarter of the membership thinks a higher minimum is appropriate.

Ralph judging by what this paragraph says in the article you provided the link for, we only need 10 team sports until 2012.  That gives HPU a little time to decide what they want to do when the new requirements take place.

I think Ralph was aware. :)

Just to make sure I am understanding everything correct. Does this mean that if HPU were to do nothing they could no longer be a part of D3 in 2012?

Pat Coleman

There would probably be a probationary period during which they'd have a chance to come into compliance, but yeah, that's the basics.

I read that part but people that don't know that 10 is the required amount right now might be questioning their eligibility for next year.
