No problem Tricky Troy, it happens to the best of us. I was starting to think I had an answer for why the Cowboys were and are so good, they use good players for longer than 4 years  ;)

Good luck Cru this weekend and let us all hope that at the end of the game we are not talking about a bad call or anything else but a great game decided by the players.

Bill McCabe

Come on crufootball, you know there will be a bad call or 2.

crufootball

That is true Bill, but I don't want to hear either side complaining that they would have won if this happened or that happened.

As far as the bad calls go, they don't matter a true champ will still play hard and win  not blame a lose on a bad call.

TrickyTroy

No thats Sul Ross where they are recuiting at nursing homes instead of High Schools

Bill McCabe

crufootball, no complaints as long as we win. ::)

Couple interesting points since I last got on the board.....I think it's hilarious that HSU thinks they were actually doing something by beating up on a one year, 2nd year, 3rd year program.....UMHB grew up and has been beating the snot out of their big brother. UMHB has done everything HSU has done, and more in the conference....and if you look at UMHB past, and their current rosters....I don't see that changing anytime soon......

I share Crualum90's frustration towards HSU....most fans won't understand it....it takes being under the pile to really understand it. All squads have dirty players...but in my 4 years of playing I never experienced one quit like HSU. Particulary Brent Gailey. Dude could of easily hurt alot of guys with his lack of sportsmanship....As far as truely experiencing the HSU vs. UMHB rivalry....I have and I feel exactly like most UMHB and HSU former players.

Chorus to this song says it all.......
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kSzyKVbBkYY        Explicit so beware!!!!

I also find it interesting that everyone is commenting on UMHB's lack of quality opponent yet....I don't think this is UMHB's problem. UMHB has always tried to schedule a quality opponent in their non-conference games....Hello Willamete (Playoff team)...after getting beat by UMHB 4 years in a row...they didn't want to resign a contract....Whitewater...Hello National Champions runner up and National Champion the last 2 years...Good chance they would have to play each other 2 times per year...I think UMHB is struggling trying to fill that gap with a good quality opponent. Nobody wants to get thrashed by UMHB early in the season, or later in the season....preferably not at all if they can help it. HSU on the other hand has been a good opponent for last couple of years....quality but not as dominating so playing them is kind of safe. You lose and you've lost to a historically quality team...you win and you beat a historically quality team. UMHB on the other hand....if your fortunate enough to win (Not likely) then you just beat a National power house....but if you get beat 72-0....you don't have that good of a chance to move up in the pools. Playing UMHB is very risky...not so much with playing HSU.

As far as rings go....I have 4....but one of our rings have a special little word on them that nobody else's in this conference has....National....if you want to see it just ask and i'll let you. No problem with that.

As far as the UMHB loss to ETBU in 2003....That's the only thing ETBU has to stand on...been standing on that one win for the last 5 years. Yall seriously need to get another recruiting tool....nobody cares about a win 5 years ago. Yall need to get over that win....then maybe you can put a competitive team on the field.

As far as the UMHB loss to HSU in 2004....All that win got them was a Conference Championship ring and a seat on the couch watching UMHB play on ESPN. That loss sparked a push by UMHB that only UMHB players can relate to...nobody else in this conference has done anything like that.

My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

GO CRU!  WIN THIS GAME!  HAVEN'T SEEN YOU ALL IN A WHILE IN SALEM!   THIS COULD BE THE START OF SOMETHING SPECIAL!!

SENDING E-BROWNIES to all the players and parents.  I think Roocrou and Crualum39 got the real brownies for the team at the last trip to Salem!

Olinemom
Brownies for Film Day--Now there's a Slogan I can live with!!!:)  Go EAGLES!

yessir, that ETBU team was pretty good.  Remember they won a playoff game that year.  They have fallen off since then, but maybe they are on their way back up.  ETBU is in a fertile recruiting area and I wouldn't be surprised to see them become a factor in the ASC.

Trust me Bill I remember every part of that ETBU game... :'( When you stack up everything that happened in that game it had to be fate for ETBU to win. Someone called in a favor to the good lord or something. The 4th down and a million play...Val Cleave throwing for a million yards....it was fate man. Their program needed that win more than ours, or something.  ???

I too remember the ETBU 2003 game, it was the longest game of my life.  Wasn't the weather overcast or rainy, cool.  Whatever it was it was gloomy to watch as ETBU rushed Tiger Field in victory and I left stunned.

Wasn't the2004 HSU/UMHB homecoming game for the CRU?  We all wore those purple shirts that we all threw away by the end of the day!  (Wow what a lesson I learned about "counting your chickens before they hatch")

My mom is an ETBC (now ETBU) grad and I remember the phone call.   :'(

Looking forward to a great day of HSU/UMHB rivalry football.

Josh,

Great work my friend.  The game day picture on the d3football main page is incredible.  Shows the passion and intensity of the game.  A picture is truly "worth more than a thousand words."

I just spotted someone in the stands wearing one of the cursed shirts.  I thought for sure they had all been burned.
