i think ALL talk of playoffs may be a little premature in week 6. Its been my experience that there are to many variables at the college level to very carefully gauge what could, would, or should happen come November. I'd rather talk about the rest of the regular season in the ASC. Any ETBU posters here this week?

yessir,

we definitely don't see eye to eye. I just don't think in week 5 we can guess who will see who or who will even be given a bid to the playoffs. I am curious why there are no ETBU fans posting. They obviously have a good squad. They are one of two undefeated teams left in the ASC. Whats the deal?

LOL....if your saying it's to early for playoff talk and i'm saying it's to early for playoff talk then I think we see eye to eye on that topic....no matter how much you hate me or UMHB...we have the same exact opinion on playoff talk right now. So we do see eye to eye cowboyfan.... :P I think your my new best friend....what's your myspace so I can put you as my number one.....

ETB has ALWAYS, to my knowledge, had HSU either just before they played MHB or Just After. The poor Tigers have NEVER been able to take advantage of a potential dangerous situation for HSU. This has lead to much frustration.

Any ETBU fans here this week? What are some things we can expect to see from the tigers this weekend? Good offense tough defense. I haven't heard much from ETBU posters this year and its obvious the program is back up again. Does ETBU carry the ball alot? Do they throw more? Looking forward to a good game two weeks in a row.

Back to football please.

The game this week is in Abilene not Marshall.  ETBU has not fared well over the years against HSU.  Keeling seemed to have Coach Harris number, much like Coach Harris was a great schemer vs UMHB.  Last years game was won on a double pass and a pick 6, but other than the overtime game it was probably about as well as we have played them.  So hopefully Sartain has them figured out a little better.

This weekend ETBU would like to keep the ball on the ground.  The RB duo of Cory George and Jair Stover has done pretty well this year.   They are both Sophs.  Stover is a lighter more all around back, and George is a 250lb bruiser.  They try to wear teams down and George will get the bulk of his carries in the 2nd half.  We have weapons in the passing game, but it hasnt shown in the stats due to inconsistency. We have had 3 or 4 passing touchdowns called back this year most of them coming from distance.  Our QB is a sophomore and will get better with time.

Our defense is pretty solid.  They have yet to give up 300 total yards in a game.
SJU 298
Sul Ross 225
TLU 188
MCM 242  80 of that coming essentially on two plays where the DB fell down on the touchdown drive.

That being said HSU seems to always attack us with the pass and that has been a weakness for us.  It will be interesting to see.

etbualum,
How has etbu been able to run the ball with so much success? I noticed that the O-Line seems to be quite small (tall, but light weight) at the tackle spots.

WOW 250lb. running back...sounds intimidating. Sounds like ETBU might cause some problems for HSU this weekend. Any opinions on LC this year....playing in Pineville was always a challenge. Halftime under the bleachers was always uncomfortable to say the least....is that still how they roll in Pineville or have the facilities improved?

ETBU's Corey George is good.

The ACFA poll is out.  UMHB stays at #3, but HSU drops to #17.

After last week, HSU rose from #21 to #16.

Those are about the same ranking, but why does the #11 team in the country lose by 2 points to #3 on the road and drop 6 places?

I dunno Ralph, but according to the page above, Millsaps faces its toughest opponent all year - hard to say who will win ...

Maybe that game will answer the question of which is better, the Millsaps offense or the Millsaps defense!!!

The temple daily telegram reports the Quincy Daniels may be back before the end of the regular season, and that Pi'Dadro Davis has a high ankle sprain and will be out for a while.  Here's the link:
