CUAfan,

what are your pics for this week. Please don't say HSU 24 SRSU 21.

Well, since you asked. :P

Texas Lutheran 26, McMurry 20 in 24 possessions
Louisiana College 23, Howard Payne 19 in 26 possessions
East Texas Baptist 25, Mississippi College 21 in 26 possessions

and last but not least.... :P

Hardin-Simmons 28, Sul Ross State 20 in 24 possessions.

sorry cowboyfan, but that's just how the numbers come out.
Let's go 'Nados!

You'd have been on theLosing side of the rivalry, Roocru, that's where!   :)

Maybe I can get away with that..... ::)

Yessir,

You HAVEN'T ALWAYS been of the winning side of the Rivalry. And in case you forgot UMHB narrowly escaped with a victory this season. And i can assure you that you will NOT always be on top.

If you narrowly escape you still get away....so my comment still stands. Narrowly or not. We haven't always been on the winning side but were currently ahead in the rivalry....therefore once again my comment still stands.

HSU O Line this past weekend
499 rushing yards....exceeding the school single game rushing record by 114 yards
(I think) 690something total yards...which is i'm sure an Offensive High for all of D3 this year!
0 sacks to help a quarterback throw for 175 yards and be nearly perfect with 11 comp. on 12 att. in one half of play
a school record long 93 yard rushing touchdown
an above 10 yard average per play!!
HOW DID THEY NOT GET D3 O LINE OF THE WEEK??
As a huge o line fan...this is kinda disappointing for these guys. but oh well...Keep it up guys and do it again next week!!
and congrats coach keeling on the HUGE milestone!!

Ditto on the oline getting recognized....Oline never get any love.  >:( The running back runs for 200+ and he gets the game ball....meanwhile the o-line gets yelled at for not making blocks. Oh the irony....

CUAFan,

I said it last week and i'll say it again this week your pics are horrible. I do however enjoy them and so do others on this site so DON'T stop posting them. My outlook on the HSU vs Sully games is a little different is a little different HSU 45 Sul Ross 20. Good luck to everyone this week. I hope UMHB has a safe trip to oregon.

yessir

I also don't think ETBU will beat MC either....

I know most of your pics are done statistically....but from the looks of it. The beat down HSU gave ETBU a couple weeks back has really put out their fire. ETBU giving LC their first conference win was a suprise to me...seems like the better team in the conference (UMHB, HSU) handle a loss as motivation...where's most of the others handle a loss as a blow to their team confidence. Wonder how the Tiger will react this week....

yessir,

good observation. I think that you will see a similar result from HPU this week after last weeks loss to HSU. Teams in the middle and bottom of this conference seem to take losses and become less motivated. I think that the loss to UMHB gave HSU the motivation to put the rest of the season away. They sure have for the past two weeks i hope that continues through the rest of the season and allows us a spot in the playoffs. Go Cowboys... Good luck this weekend to everyone, hope everyone stays healthy.

yessir

Exactly....I know in 2004 we wouldnt of gone on the run that we did without gettting strait #itch slapped by HSU in the reg. season. After that game it's like something clicked for us. We started woppin tail and taking names. I grew up in a losing program in HS, and it was the same way. We would go 2-0 every year...dominating the first 2 games. Then we would lose the third and it was like the wheels fell off. The one year we had some success (6-4) we went 2-0, then dropped to 2-3. If it wouldnt' of been for another weak team in our district we prolly would of went 2-8 again (3 out of 4 years in HS). But we got a win in that 6th game and it sparked us again...ended up playing La Grange HS (Ty Gunn days) the final game of the season to decide if we made the playoffs or not....needless to say we didn't. LOL My point is....Good teams rebound...and the mediocre teams roll out of bounds. Go Cru!!!!

Any Crusader injury updates? Is Matt Hurst back?

Toby Taff

My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

crufootball

Matt Hurst is not on the two deep so I don't think so.

The two deep for tailback goes Nathan Meyer, linebacker a couple of weeks ago, and then Josh Landrum a true freshman who played in his first varsity game last week.
Both did well when they played but not the two backs the Cru faithful were expecting to see.

One thing I don't understand is where did Roger Sanchez go? He was doing pretty well and I don't believe is he hurt.

Yeah, well, we're all entitled to our opinion! :P As long as I get most of the winners right I'm happy; I'm not so crazy as to think I'm going to get the score exactly right, not that I'd complain if I ever do. You know, I don't recall if I ever posted my new team rankings, so here they are (again if I already did).

1. Mary Hardin-Baylor, .320
2. Hardin-Simmons, .181
3. Sul Ross State, .011
4. East Texas Baptist, .011
5. Louisiana College, -.043
6. Mississippi College, -.060
7. Howard Payne, -.095
8. Texas Lutheran, -.142
9. McMurry, -.229

Just saw the score....what happened to UMHB??

Toby Taff

They played poorly.  3 ints.  2 fumbles in the end zone.  at least 3 pass interference penalties that bailed SOU out.  They ran a pass oriented offense, and SOU played hard from start to finish.

I wasn't expecting that....I have it admit that I knew nothing of SOU.....but I assumed UMHB would walk in and stomp them.  Too bad!!!
