Wesley doesn't  seem to rush more than the four line men but when they do blitz they are successful. They seem to take away all the underneath passes and make the opponents receivers beat them deep.  The D backs separate the ball from the receivers with some teeth rattling hits but have also missed some  coverages too
The rush did have QB Santagato was running for his life last week but he had to move the pocket to see as he was small and that may have played into Wesley's hand. The rush D has been real good once again holding down Salisbury's high powered running game and last week stopping  the Mules Delgado.

I do think that McSweeney's ability to avoid the rush will have an effect on what Wesley can and can't do on offence. Wesley has some set plays that use his running ability. ?He does like to get involved and will throw a block when needed.

It should be another battle in the trenches..

Teamski,  here are some comparative stats for UMHB and Wesley.

Sacks:   UMHB 23     Wesley 6

Definately an issue that Wesley needs to address.  Wesleydad has been harping all season about the pass rush or the lack, thereof.

-Ski

Actually, your numbers are wrong.  I looked at the stats and I am counting 18 for the regular season and 3 at Muhlenberg.  I won't say that our pass rush is that good, but obviously, it's better than just 6 sacks for the season.

-Ski

You are correct.  I don't know where I got that number.  21 sacks on the year.  I would like to see how many hurries they have.

Should be a great game Saturday, I know for a fact that the Mary Hardin-Baylor guys are mad that they are not getting any respect, credit or recognition. D3football.com picked them to lose to Hardin-Simmons and yet they survived and advanced.

Yep, a unanimous decision by a field goal or less which clearly showed the respect we have for BOTH HSU and UMHB.

If they need to play that card to beat HSU then they are going to have bigger problems further along in the bracket. For now, I think 237 programs would take a No. 5 ranking as respect. Not Mount Union and apparently not UMHB.

Can we get a predicition for Saturday's game between UMHB and Wesley- I think it would be interesting to hear your take on that game.

Sader4life

Randolph-Macon lost by 56 points, Hardin-Simmons lost by 3 and you know what they will both be participating in the same activities this weekend (XBox360, Nintendo Wii, Fantasy Football, Helping mom with Thanksgiving dishes or whatever their heart fancies). This is playoff football and all that matters is surviving and advancing. Whether you win by 3 or you win by 56 the reward is still the same. If you are satisfied and content with losing by 3 points then kudos to you, I dont know what you want, a golden star, a teddy bear, special recognition when the trophy is presented. The last time I checked losing wasnt a good thing. I am tired of hearing "it was only by 3 points" " we were so close" etc. 5 years from now very few will remember what the score, all people remember is who won and who lost. If UMHB wins the Stagg Bowl by 3 points- I will celebrate just as much as if we won it by 30 points.

Triple Take will be on Friday, as always.

YES PLEASE!!!! Support the ASC and vote for Justin. GOOD LUCK UMHB. Sounds like it will be a great game against two good teams. I pick UMHB over Wesley by a touchdown. Any others brave enough to voice an opinion besides Sader. We all know what his is going to be.

That's exactly what you did two games in a row you found a way to survive and advance. Congratulations on another good win. But you are sorely mistaken if you think winning is the only thing that matters. If thats the case then in round 2 or 3 or when ever it happens and you do lose, your season will have ment nothing. Show some respect. Please feel free to have pride in your team. i'd expect nothing less but please stop posting with such disrespect. No one here (including UMHB fans) appreciates your disrespect. And I for one am very tired of your posts they all sound the same. Why don't you come back and post when you have something valid or interesting to say. I can assure you that NO ONE is more upset to be spending thanksgiving with mom than the Cowboys. They did have a great season and i would expect any real football fan to be able to appreciate that. I hope you get your thanksgiving wish and that UMHB goes far but if they don't.... You can gaurentee that I won't be on here talking trash about them losing and playing XBOX and their "golden star". GROW UP. Looks like everyone here is an adult except for you.

You said that much more tactfully than I would have.
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

yessir

I didn't think what he said was disrespect.....true...very true but not disrespectful. What I think is disrespectful is everyone thinking we should all sympathize with the Cowboys....Our team won...and were happy about it. Just cause your team lost doesn't mean we all have to roll over and be nice to the losers. "Your either first, or last".....when it comes to playoffs. Win or go home.....both the Crusaders and the Cowboys knew that coming into the game....only one team took care of business. Get over it....it's over....HSU and the Cowboys shouldnt' even be mentioned right now....

Which is why I think what he said was "disrespectful."  The HSU faithful and players know they're at home.  It's one thing to brag on your team, its another to insinuate that the other teams fans are acting like cry babies.  The HSU faithful has been very gracious since the game.  I've read congratulations and good luck and good game, but nothing that struck me as whining.  From what I could tell listening to the game this was one of the best games in the series.  It's ok to acknowledge that.  Now on to Wesley.

umhb2001

OF COURSE I voted for Feaster!  If HSU were playing this weekend, I would be pulling for Feaster to do just that, Feast on Wesley.  Great season and good luck!

Now, about Sader4life's post.  There has been some wining, you know, about the band and stuff, but that is it.  Every other poster on here has said "great season, way to go, good luck, represent the ASC..." I believe that every HSU fan is pulling for the ASC, just as UMHB fan would be had we been beaten.  Yes, we came out on top because of some great plays and some let downs by HSU, but I have seen enough games to know that anything can happen if you let it. (Buffalo Bills vs. Houston Oilers in 1993 ring a bell?) We have had the run lately, but it won't always be that way Sader4life, so be a little more tactful and know that one of these days, the shoe is going to drop and we will be rooting for HSU!

As for this weekend, HSU fan, come root on the ASC!  I just took a run and saw the Cru practicing!  They were looking hungry, and not for turkey tomorrow!  See ya on Saturday!  8)
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!
