Just because I'm a glutton for punishment, and I want to be driven bats, can you compare and contrast Wesley and HSU for me (since you guys saw both teams in back-to-back weeks)?

Josh,

No question HSU was better.  McSweeny was nowhere near as good as Feaster, not mobile at all.  As I see it, they were not near fast enough to match up with UMHB's team speed and their offensive line could not protect the QB ( even without blitzes, the defensive linemen for UMHB put pressure on their QB).  Unless W&J is vastly improved in the team speed area,  I believe we would be playing HSU for the regional title this week.
Anything that you ardently desire, vividly imagine, totally believe and enthusiastically pursue will inevitably come to pass !!!

Ron -- Nah, that couldn't be it. That would not only make more sense, it would be the simplest explanation. If we bought that, what would we do with the chip we were getting ready to put on our shoulder and the righteous indignation we were already conjuring up? ;D
The jealousy in your voice brings a smile to my face....... ;D I'm pretty sure their using last years teams as a template....just was sharing a tid bit of my Stagg Bowl experience for the unexperienced.

I only saw parts of each game due to working but from what I saw Wesley wasn't even comparable. From the skill postions to the lines.....The Cru defense was "WORKING" Wesley....the offense was already in "cruisin" mode by the time I got there but even then it was a pretty easy game....I think if HSU and UMHB woulda been in different regions....then the HSU vs. UMHB game would of been a semi's game....sucks the AA are so cheap.
Walking on thin ice cuz someone lost......again.

Jealousy? Nope. Sarcasm and amusement, yes. Excuse me - "yessir", that is.
Glad to bring you a smile, though.
Not really a bad dog. Just misunderstood!

HSU is a much better team.  Obviously Feaster is the better QB and I personally believe Carrillo is better than Beavers.  HSU's line on both sides is better.  Also, after having seen Millsaps play Trinity, I thought UMHB and HSU were both better than Millsaps.  I agree with Roocru on two things.  We should be playing HSU this weekend for the regional title and unless W&J's speed is improved, they could be in for a long day.

or, one could logically conclude that they used last year's site as a template and haven't gotten around to updating it for 2008.

Or maybe they are trying to save money!!!   ::)

Josh HSU was the better team. HSU offensive line provided better protection for Feaster than Welsey's line. Wesley seemed slower than HSU.  Also, for the most part the Cru O-line dominated Wesley. Beaver's was not a factor for the 2nd year in a row, except for the last minute KO return for a TD.

I am so bummed about not being able to be at the game this weekend!  But, I believe that the Cru will bring it again.  I feel like the crowd is actually getting into it a little as well!  Some weeks it feels as if they are watching tennis!

So am I correct in assuming that we would host the winner of the UWW game in the semi's? :o
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

I see the Saenz of a another South Region Title. Ladies and gentlemen it is not to late to hope on the UMHB Bandwagon. Every week UMHB keeps getting more and more believers. Rule out UMHB at your own peril. And I just thought about it and I dont think a number 5 ranking isnt giving UMHB enough respect, sure it may be great for 230 some odd other teams but not for us. As I said before and I will say it again UMHB plays their best football when no-one thinks they are good enough.

I think they put any doubts to rest on Saturday. If they continue to play like that they'll be taking on Mount Union in a few weeks.

As Coach Fred said a few weeks ago, UMHB is peaking at the right time.

Sader, look at that sentence.

Does your double-negative mean that you seem to happy with the #5 ranking?   :D

You surely know how to win friends and influence people.

No one on these boards has disparaged UMHB.  The #5 ranking is at the end of the season, two games back, back when Coach Fred said that the Crusaders were starting to peak at the right time of the season.  "Starting to peak"?   That means that they weren't as good after the regular season as they are now!

I don't want anyone spouting bulletin board material this week.

W&J is always a great win.  They have one of the most highly respected programs in all of D-III.  In fact, W&J has one more Rose Bowl appearance than any of the ASC teams.  Top that CRU fans!   :D

You know that deep down those W&J fans know what their recent history versus "Texas" has been.  I don't want them to come down here and reverse that trend.

Finally, the "Barbed Wire and Mesquite" is on the line.  Wesley came down here in 2005 and took it back to Delaware.  Do we want to see this little piece of Texas taken back to Pennsylvania?   :o

Travel safely all!

skunks_sidekick

Sader.....yah.......the MHB players and coaches are REALLY fired up now due to all the "disrespect" they are receiving on this website.   ::)

They were banged up....they are now healthier than they have been all year.....hence...playing great football.

I can tell you the fans at Mount not only respect the MHB program (even if they did CHEAT in 2004  ;D), we would DEFINITELY welcome an opportunity to meet again (only this year in the Stagg).

Ralph,

thanks for pointing out that Sader is lacking in the people skills department. Anyone wanna take a bet on how many times this week he will make mention to "everyone overlooking umhb." As if Wesley didn't know and W&J doesn't understand how good the football team is they will face this week. Good luck to UMHB hope eveyone has a safe travel to the game and I'm hoping for an ASC win this weekend. Way to go Cru keep it up. I haven't heard much about W&J anyone have any interesting info about what kind of football team UMHB will see this weekend? Do they run the ball or pass? How does the W&J defense look?

crufootball

That is awesome about the Rose Bowl, even better is that they only had a roster of 11 guys that day. Bet the NCAA would love it if they only had to pay for 11 guys to make the trip down from Pennsylvania.
