The only thing, roo, is that the bracket matchup that you are longing for had NOTHING to do with penny pinching.

I wish W&J had their '94 defense to go with the '08 offense, but that isn't any more possible that your desire...

It had everything to do with penny pinching.  Why else do the 2nd and 3rd seed play in the first round and they are from the same conference.  They deserved better than that.

I know Josh Welch was an option quarterback, but he did throw overhand.

He wasn't too bad as a thrower, either.  Josh had a great 5 game run in the playoffs that year.

Seemed more like a hand-grenade throw!  It's up in the air.......(thinking to self......Mount has guys back there.....this should be it......we are headed to the Stagg.......wonder where we should go after the game.......MAN is it cold......these Texas guys showed a LOT of heart playing in this weather.....is that ball ever going to come down).....OH NO.....that no good MHB guy CAUGHT THE BALL!

Then I asked Big O....surely it's not gonna be like this at the game right....LOL Wow it was cold. One of our film guys threw up cause he was shaking so much.....LOL Poor Cotton!!!

To continue my last post, Jones, their RB, has rushed for over 100 yards both games. He has been VERY good it looks like.  Swallow, their QB, hasn't put up large rushing numbers, so perhaps our D line will be able to get to him, but he has been very accurate and has thrown for a large number of yards. I don't think they have faced a D like ours though, so it should be interesting.

Don't mistake lack of rushing yards for lack of mobility.  Swallow was very good at getting out of trouble when Millsaps was able to put pressure on him.  Plus, he was very good at throwing on the run when he was flushed out of the pocket.  Based on what I saw in the game last Saturday, the key for UMHB will be to limit the yards that Jones gains after contact.  He is a hard man to bring down and those extra couple of yards he kept getting after contact were the ones that allowed W&J to grind out long, time consuming drives.

No disrespect, but IMHO, the Millsaps D is no UMHB D.  Look at the numbers and where they rank.  Look at what the UWW offense said about the Cru D last year, and what the Wesley O said about us this year.(From the Temple Daily Telegram "Added McSweeny: "They're a great defense, probably the best in Division III football. They're fast. They're big. They didn't make any mistakes. They swarmed to the ball and would tackle you on the first hit. They gave us a lot of different looks and just did great today."    They claim that the Cru D is one of if not the fastest and best tackling they had and have seen.  The Cru is ranked in the top 15 D's for the season, where as Millsaps is not.

My point, my only point is, 1st round or 2nd round--NEITHER of those rounds are the Region FINAL.

#2 seed and #3 seed DO NOT MEET IN REGION FINAL.  2 vs. 3 is a semifinal matchup.

I wasn't supporting them meeting in the first round.  I was simply saying them meeting in the region final wouldn't have been clean bracketology either.

Penny pinching is the only way #2 COULD have met #3 in a Region Final.

Not directly after the game since there was no hot water in the visitors dressing room....but right after that it got really really warm....I have a picture of me and my girl standing by the bus and I was in shorts.....Awesome.
