I was doing my usual late-Saturday, early-Sunday research through various box scores for my Division III Fantasy League I run [ http://continue.to/d3fantasy ] and just happened to find something pretty interesting (more so scary);

Both Mount Union's and Muskingum's starting kickers are named Mike Zimmerman.

But that's just the beginning.

Both are sophomores.  Both are 5'10''.  Both are 160 lbs.

Wow.

Pat Cummings hit five PATs
for Union in their 41-28 over
Rochester this past Saturday.

Sometimes the best names are hidden on the rosters.

Wabash has a freshman RB named...Bronson Lacillade.
Wabash Always Fights!

K-Mack

Wow, that's not even my favorite Wabash RB. Don Juan Brown is a dope name.

I think I found someone named hoeington or something, and a pimp joke popped into my head ... but having an official capacity and all, I wisely forgot it before I could write it down.

Nice thread through. I find a few of these every week.

There's also the team name game, but I'm saving that one for the slow ATN week ...

From the reusing work department...

"On a lighter note, announcers beware – Juniata's roster includes Mohammad Ali Khoshnevisan and Mohammad Amin Khoshnevisan.  The brothers will have to be identified by their full name to distinguish between the two."

theoriginalupstate

how about the brothers from UofR

Peter Kum-Nji

Paul Kum-Nji

I wonder if Mary Kum-Nji also goes to the UofR??

John McGraw

I'd be remiss if I didn't mention this gem at the bottom of the Buffalo State roster.

99 Puke Ho Ching 5'11 Fr. LB Gouverneur, NY

Let's not forget our friend at Montclair State, Billy Dee Williams. Unfortunately, he doesn't wear 45.

And Billy Dee has a kindred spirit at FDU-Florham, Billy D. Williams (#10 IIRC).

Last year, Bridgewater (Va.) had a freshman defensive end named Michael Jackson.

I had a co-worker whose name was Michael Jordan...

When he introduced himself, he used to say..."I'm Michael Jordan...the poor one"...

Mr. Ypsi

Great find, John McGraw!  For the kid's sake, I SURE hope his name is pronounced poo-kay or pew-kay, not, well, puke!  ;D

Jonny Utah

although I might puke if I was from gouverneur ny......that place is like the Hoth from the empire strikes back

John McGraw

From what I was told this past Saturday, his name is pronounced Pooka. Unfortunately at least to my knowledge he didn't get in the game so I wasn't able to get that gem in over the air.

Other names that have popped up on my radar
Kean University
17 Agim Bajramovic LB
66 Murat Ambaroglu OL
96 Migirdic Ambaroglu DL
MIT (His picture was in the Kickoff Preview)
25 Muamba Muanankese RB
Willy P
64 Bekim Abazoski OL
80 Hamza Abdelhadi WR
93 Wolf Emilien DL

But, without question, the starting TE on the all-time All-Name team, and I think Gordon will back me up on this is former Kings College tight end Harry Dickey.
