From the reusing work department...

"On a lighter note, announcers beware – Juniata's roster includes Mohammad Ali Khoshnevisan and Mohammad Amin Khoshnevisan.  The brothers will have to be identified by their full name to distinguish between the two."

Some of the names you are "discovering" have already been posted on this thread.  You gotta do your homework to play the game right.   :)

So there's two what about the other 10 or so?

POMONA SAGEcocks once had BOBBY Buchsay (if thats how you spell it) on their team. Everyone on  my teams Offense line would make fun of him.

Anyways, the sagecock mascot itself.......wow :o

You miss the point.

(If you are going to post a bunch of times on a thread that is old, it would have  made sense to read the first couple pages, otherwise you're just re-posting in many cases.)

Khoshnevisan and Sack were "interesting player names" when they were posted months ago.

And of the other 8 you posted, I wouldn't consider them "interesting".  They're mainly kids with foreign names which are only "interesting" because they're foreign.  "Art Bell" is not interesting IMO.  Achille Kolla was a good one.  Guy Sack is funny but a re-post (although "White Mules" deserves some merit).  Khoshnevisan is interesting mainly because his brother of a nearly identical name is also on the team.

TEZ18-----

To point out something that you don't probabily know, the reason why some pomona Pitzer players don't want to be called a SAgeHEN is because as you might not know this is a female type of bird. Thus the word, sagecock would be a bit better for them.

So even if i point out sagehen, then that would lower down their image. SO i would rather call them sagecock. STill this is one funny mascot as well.

Brown: Pomona could simplify the matter by calling itself the Sages.

You are right on the money. I would call them just pitzer instead of sometype of chicken, bird, hen or whatever the mighty sagehen is

I prefer the alliteration already going and suggest the Pomona Pitzer Pumas.   ;)

I 've always enjoyed the Potent Peckers of Pomona Pitzer.

They could take on the Clamorin' Clucks of Trinity College...in fact they did in basketball last year!

Would that make it the CalTech Cumins, the Redlands Garlics, etc. ;)

"...Parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme..."

But I only suggested cumin and garlic ;D!  The parsleys, rosemarys(ies?), and thymes are on YOUR head!

Pomona Pumas is a better name. I'll take it.
