Pat Coleman

His middle name was Terrific, actually, and he played minor league baseball.

However, he did not play D-III, so let's stay on track.

I was thinking the same think, not because I like to strong-arm the message board participants, but because that would open a whole 'nother bag of worms, from DeCody Fagg to Cory Lekerkker.

Here's a D3 one I like:
Schuyler Onderdonk, Principia

There was a Rowdy Hoover on the DL for Bridgewater for a while.

Can I play a different name game?

What about best team names? Or most unique?

Corsairs, Yeomen, Poets, Sagehens ... they're different.

Least imaginative: Johnnies, Tommies, Lutes, etc.

Most repetitive (here's the game I really want to play)

Pioneers: Grinnell, Carroll, Utica, Widener ... who am I forgetting?

Yellow Jackets: Defiance, Randolph-Macon, Waynesburg, Howard Payne, Rochester

Bulldogs: Adrian, Redlands, TLU

theoriginalupstate

how about the cardinals for the most repetitive?

Catholic, North Central, St. John Fisher, Otterbein and Wesleyan!

K-Mack

A look at that list ... there are definitely some fun ones out there. Student Princes, Continentals, Prairie Fire.

Then of course the Tigers (HSC, ETBU, Trinity, DePauw, etc.), Bears (Wash U., Williamette as in -cats, Coast Guard, ONU as in Polar, WNEC as in Golden), several Spartans and a Tartans. Some Dutchmen fly, some don't. Some Eagles are Golden too, some regular.

Lions, Panthers, Cougars, Cardinals, Crusaders repeat ... but is Linfield the only Wildcats?

Gusties, Auggies...

Forgot Baldwin-Wallace as Yellow Jackets.

Not even sure what I'm trying to accomplish ... For another day, I guess.

Add William Paterson to the list of Pioneers.  Plus there are several Knights out there also.
