In the interest of accuracy.  Will Block was a RB last year, a DB this.

This is the Funniest name I could Find,  Please feel free to call him by his shortened name.

ONU Polar Bear -

94 - Richard Roudybush

...although he doesn't go by his shortened name.

I guess I really missed the boat since I didn't list Roudybush myself.

I personally prefer ONU's Jimmy Goforth (and multiply)

From SI.Coms The Ten Spot, written by a Williams Alum:
Quote4. SI.com's Stewart Mandel asked the 10 Spot to discuss Arkansas' quarterback situation. That topic is generally too hard-newsy for our purposes, but heaven knows we're always desperate for material. Thus we will report that freshman Casey Dick will start in place of Robert Johnson this weekend against South Carolina. Or, as the headline on a major sports Web site (briefly) put it on Monday, "Dick to replace Johnson vs. Gamecocks." It almost seems like piling on to mention that the quarterback change was made by, yes, coach Houston Nutt.

Grove City has a Roudybush as well....RB Ken Roudybush was tackled by Alfred's Jake Syracuse!

knightstalker: Does that mean Nutt was playing with the 'cocks without his Johnson?

I sent my restatement of this to you PM.
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

Nutt blew the game when roudybush intercepted his third pass of the game.
Wackar needed a change , so he asked dick to rise to the occassion, but benditt and strokoff were all over dick.  Wackar had to pull dick and replace him with johnson, where Johnson came from behind to beat the gamecocks. :)

The maturity level here is overwhelming.

(Not that I wasn't laughing).

OK, a new name game challenge went out in this week's ATN.

QuoteIt's the end of the year, and if your team is out of it, you might be feeling a little silly. We already have a best names thread, which incorporates player names and unique team nicknames, on Post Patterns. Let's add to that matchups you'd like to see, based on names. Bethel-Bethany, Whitworth-Whittier. Or you're free to be much more clever, like perhaps Crown vs. King's or Plymouth State vs. Rockford.

Plymouth Rock, people? Come on! Where's my rimshot?

(Has more where that came from)

The first bit of feedback on that question:

K-Mack: Isn't MIT also called the Engineers?

K-Mack

You are correct sir.

Not many took me up on my game, but I'm pretty sure I can think of plenty of cornball matchups, just as soon as this playoff talk dies down.  :D

Along the names line, can I just say that coocooforCoeKohawk is by far the best board moniker? I laugh every time I see it.

OK, um, carry on.
