Trusnik is on that workout list and his numbers are pretty darn impressive.  JCU's Joseph Konrad has a review as well.  The review of Trusnik has hims running 4.67 40's, a comparitively fast short shuttle and cone drill and some impressive athletic marks in broad jump and vertical.  I know it's a long shot for sure but he certainly didn't hurt his chances with his performance at pro day.

For what it's worth, Trusnik's 40 time is faster than any of the other D-III players on that list (including RB's and WR's).

I didn't see any info on the TE from Wisconsin (Allen?) although I know he's getting some serious consideration.

Whitworth in Washington....

He is projected by some scouts to go in the 5th or 6th round and by others to not even get drafted. He had great numbers (4.71 40, 10'3 Broad 35'' Vertical) except for Bench (only 15) thats what I think really hurts him.  I think the scouts that have him going good in the draft are only relying on his numbers and workout, but other say he come out too high in his stance and too slow for the NFL...we'll see on draft day.

I certainly hope he proves the nay-sayers wrong and has a great career, but it wouldn't surprise me if he had to go to NFL Europe or something.

A bench of 225 for 15 reps for a 250+ pound TE is a little disappointing - especially with the handicap of coming from DIII. Based on that information without more in a positive vein to counterbalance than has been broadly disclosed to date, he will not be drafted.

sorry, but i do not see trusnik going to the NFL... I played against him 2 times.. The second time I played him was during his defensive player of the year season... Though he may be quick, he is tall and lanky.. def would not play at the defensive end position.. i am not going to say maybe if he adds some weight he could get on maybe afl or something...  Sorry to hear that Lewis from mount only repped 21 and i think i saw he ran in the mid 5 second range...  He was a beast at the D3 level and i think he has the ability to move on..  Looking at his size one might think he needs to shape up...

There has been some mistaken information given...Allen had 19 reps on the Bench according to NFL.com combine results that puts him on par with many of the other TE's

It certainly doesn't make him the strongest TE but certainly not the weakest. (Scott Chandler from Iowa had 16)

Allan as a DIIIer needs to be at or near the top of all these TE prospects in terms of strength and speed in order to be drafted. 19 reps appears to be well below the middle. Probably there will be in the neighborhood of 11 to 16 TEs drafted.

Among TE's

He had the second best 40 time (4.71) Olsen had the best (4.51)
He had the best Broad-jump (10'3'')
He had the second best verticl (36'')

He was 4 reps behind Olsen (23) in the bench, and pretty much on par with most of the TE's. The best lifter was the Boise St. TE at 27, alot of 20's 21's 22's

We will know in a few weeks how the people who count interpret the information which they have. I do know that any DIIIer has 2 strikes against him in the draft by virtue of merely being a DIIIer. If he is perceived as being less than strong (or is perceived as having any other major deficiency), then that perception is his third strike, and he is not drafted.

Rocky may want to hold off celebrating his new position in Marion

Mayhem sign former Buckeyes Quarterback
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...

Yeah, and isn't Jackson younger than Rocky? ;D ;)

reality check

I forgot all about Stanley Jackson.  He did an autograph session when I was in high school at the athletic shoe store I worked at with fellow Buckeye Pepe Pearson.  I remember him being a little upset that noone was running through walls to get his autograph.  I hope he has come down to earth a little as he's gotten older.  I mean he hasn't played in the CFL since 2004 and his next move is to the Marion Mayhem?!?

Maybe the Mayhem feel Rocky needs an older tutor at the QB position and try as they might, they couldn't find anyone old enough to fit that bill until 32 year old Stanley Jackson popped up at their doorstep.  Apparently Herbstreit wasn't interested.

ace

When my son was in high school and being recruited by Moung and Wooster, Coach Keheres and Coach Schmidt by far had the most class of the D3 schools.
I was very impressed Woosters campus, academics and atmosphere.
After a few visits Coach Schmidt asked my son," Do you want to be part of a tradition, or start a new one?"
My son went to Mount.

Funny stuff from over on the SCIAC board.

Division III

Apparently not new - but new to me and maybe to some of you - AND it's football related.  8)

Found this on the WIAC board...

well if Jackson still plays like he did at OSU.. Rocky will not have anything to worry about....

Just like Joey G did Rocky will also... that is to say if Rocky actually plays for the Mayhem
