Word on Pentello is he failed his physical because of a childhood injury to his foot. The Browns didn't want to be on the hook in case he reinjured it.

Got confirmation from the Browns PR staff on what Pat had earlier stated.  Rocky did indeed fail his physical.  That sucks for him.  I can only imagine how disappointing it was to go all the way to camp only to be told it wasn't going to happen.

Hopefully someone else gives the kid (old man) a shot be it arena or CFL.

My question is what type of "childhood injury" could cause someone to fail a physical? Tom Dempsey (the Saints) only had half a foot - and he played. Granted that was way back when Rocky was a Freshman at Capital and probably before physicals were all that important.

If the injury is what i think it is then they are talking about the scar that runs down theback of his leg into his foot... When Rocky was younger he was run over by a lawnmower.. seems very wierd, but yet is a true story

You cant expect the Browns to take a chance of permanently injuring a guy at QB now can you? Oh wait,...thats kinda like what they did with Couch, Garcia, Holcomb, Frye....so on and so forth. ;) Maybe Rocky showed up at minicamp riding a motorcycle and scared the crap out of them. He sure dodged the rush pretty well on that leg that survived a lawnmower accident in college! Hows is he expected to play with receivers  with broken legs and surgical knees? Honestly he couldnt do much worse now..could he? Rocky should have had his leg tatooed to hide the scars. The browns would never have found it.

Congrats to J Trusnik.  Hope he makes the cut and does the OAC proud, ala L Fletcher.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Hmmmm, I keep having this crazy thought about the '07 Mount defense.  Is anyone else having the same one?

Stanley is drafted by the Rams
Schmidt is signed by the Redskins
Beaver holds the rushing record and is considered by many as the best D3 back
Jacobs is the 2 time WIAC player of the year

With all that offensive talent Whitewater in the '06 Stagg Bowl manages only 1 TD on a 4 yd drive?  And 7 of the 11 starters return off of that defense for '07?

Going to be a long year for opposing offenses in the OAC..................

Imagine the Stagg Bowl of this year only Beaver is on the MUC team and Kmic plays for WW. How much is Beavers game elevated or hampered by the switch? What about Kmic? Would he be as effective running behind WWs line? Or would they both be relatively unaffected? Would switching QBs be more of a factor in the outcome of the contest? Just food for thought. Evidently the pro scouts have their opinions and think WW was loaded with the best pro prospects.

Many times through the years we have talked about a lot of ex-football players at Mount Union that are now coaching / head coaches themselves.  In this month's edition of the Raiders Newsletter there is a full list of ex-Raiders coaching at all levels.  A copy of the newsletter is here:  http://www.mtunionfootball.com

It's not so bad.  How do you think I got my current hair style?

Figured you had a blind barber.

The worst part is the lawn mower didn't even have a motor on it. One of those reel push mowers........they didn't have motors when Rocky was a kid!

Hail to the Redskins!!  I wondered how long it would take Joe to tap into players that play for the love of the game.
