RC,

I don't think the guy at WOO is related.  Swearingen was from the Cinci area... Kings Mills I believe.  I guess that oesn't mean that the other guy can't be a cousin or something, but I would guess doubtful that he is a brother.

I don't hink he is related to Ronnie.  Would like to think if he was he would ahve went to Cap.

JK,

When do classes start at UK?  Bet you are looking forward to KEntucky football ;D

A quick note from camp at Marietta, there are 126 players on the roster and 58 freshman in the incoming class.  They are also starting an annual "River City Bowl" which will occur during the home opener each season.  Sounds like a fun way to try and get the community involved in the football program.  There is a great support base in the community for the baseball team and hopefully that support base will turn into a good base for football as well.  I look for some good things this year from Marietta and they could turn some heads again.  As mentioned before, they were playing great at the end of last season and should continue to build off of that.

Jamal had 5 carries for 37 yards (7.4 per carry) against the Giants this weekend.  I was extremely upset that the game was not televised locally since there was nothing else worth watching this weekend and as I usually get stuck seeing every Jets, Giants and Patriots games living here in the middle of CT.

He seems to have had a decent game though.  I am wondering if Steven Davis will make the team or if they will waive/cut him for medical reasons.  He is still hurt and getting older by the minute.

They have been saying nice things about Jamal Robertson on the preseason games down here.  Not sure about the paper, don't usually read too much on the Panthers in the Charlotte or Rock Hill papers.

e lee,

School starts Wednesday.  Right now the, um, "scenery" is great with everyone moving in.

Yeah, KY football is great.  They might win three games this year and one of those should be D-1AA Idaho State.  Who knows though, Ohio U beat them last season.

ELee,
What about Nick Goins? Have they said anything about him? Did you know he went to school with Lanier and was the running back on his state team at Scioto.

Goings did a nice job plugging the holes created by injury last season.  I saw somewhere that he is playing a little FB too.  That could mean good news for Jamal maybe?!?.  If Goings stays as a backup FB, then that might leave a roster spot for Jamal at HB.  I can't believe the depth Carolina has in the backfield this season though.   You have Goings of course, DeShaun Foster, and second round pick Eric Shelton, Rod Smart (He Hate Me) and Nick Maddox on the roster along with Jamal.

And of course, as I state my thoughts about Davis possibly being waived, he has his first practice in 10 months today.

Reality,
Thanks for the update. That sure is a crowded backfield. Similar situation as in Denver.

Mount Pre-season roster is up on MUC.edu.  I'll let some other obsessive compulsive count the total.
